Unlabelled: This research aimed to assess the biological characteristics of both submerged culture mycelium and artificial basidioma of NTH-PL4. The extraction yield from the basidioma surpassed that of the mycelium. The use of hot water extract resulted in the highest total carbohydrate content, predominantly found in the basidioma.

This study describes our experience with autologous gamma delta T cell immunotherapy for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer patients in Vietnam, a developing nation.
Methods: Five patients with non-small cell lung cancer at stages III - IV were enrolled in the study.
The results of in silico screening of the 50 isolated compounds from against the target proteins PDE4 (PDE4A, PDE4B, and PDE4D) showed binding affinity ranges from -5.81 to -11.56, -5.

This in vitro study aimed to elucidate the influence of scanning-aid materials on the accuracy (trueness and precision) of digital scanning on the bilateral upper posterior edentulous jaw (Kennedy class I).
Methods: The asymmetrical bilateral upper posterior edentulous model (reference model) was generated using a 3D printer with three groups (application of TiO powder - composite and no-treatment control).
Background/purpose: World Health Organization (WHO) oral health survey manual is the main guideline for most oral health surveys worldwide. It has been updated several times since 1971; however, using papers and pens for data recording remains unchanged. This study aimed to develop the Vietnam Oral Survey Electronics Recorder (VOSER) to record dental caries data based on the WHO 2013 criteria and assess its reliability and efficiency.

To assess DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) graduation exams, this study analyzed their 2021 implementation in comparison to onsite exams conducted in 2020 and 2022 at the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam (FOS-UMPH). The final online examination comprises two main sessions: a synchronous online examination using FOS-UMPH e-Learning for theories (consisting of 200 MCQs and 3 written tests with 3 clinical situations needed be solved) and a synchronous online examination using Microsoft Teams for practicum (comprising of 12 online OSCE stations).

Results show that hydroxyl groups tend to gather at -positions on graphene sheets to generate perfect ring-like hexahydroxyl group adsorption. The close proximity of hydroxyl groups is in good agreement with the experimental separation between unoxidized, aromatic and oxidized, saturated regions in graphene oxide.

Furthermore, this characterization very often needs to be performed in three dimensions and at length scales down to the nanometer. Therefore, there is a stringent necessity to develop appropriate instrumentational solutions to fulfill these needs.

Patients And Methods: This is a retrospective study of Vietnamese patients with advanced EGFR-mutant NSCLC treated with first-line afatinib at the National Cancer Hospital from 1st January 2018 to 31st October 2020. Patients' demographic, clinical and treatment data were captured.

Lead-free BiNaKTiO₃ (BNKT) ferroelectric films on Pt/TI/SIO₂/Si substrates were prepared via a sol-gel spin coating routine. The microstructures and multiferroic behaviors of the films were examined intimately as a function of the annealing time. A rise of annealing time enhanced the crystallization of the films via the perovskite structure.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of non-surgical periodontal treatment on Vietnamese patients with active RA and PD, where the clinical characteristics and serum indices of the patients were of interest.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is an important public health problem. The knowledge of bacterial communities in the gut of Vietnamese patients with T2DM and non diabetic controls is still insufficient. We report in this article the 16S rDNA amplicon data of the gut microbiomes of Vietnamese patients with T2DM and nondiabetic controls carried out using the Illumina sequencing.

This study investigates the role of MBL2 genetic variants and levels of MBL in serum and complement proteins in Vietnamese dengue patients. MBL2 genotypes (- 550L/H, MBL2 codon 54), MBL2 diplotypes (XA/XO, YA/XO) and MBL2 haplotypes (LXPB, HXPA, XO) were associated with dengue in the study population.

This study aims to distinguish acute primary from secondary dengue infections of Vietnamese adults and to assess the association of viremia and anti-dengue immunoglobulin levels with clinical outcomes.
Study Design: Viral RNA, dengue serotypes and levels of anti-dengue IgM and IgG of hospitalized adult cases were determined in EDTA-plasma samples prospectively collected during three consecutive years of dengue infection in Hanoi.
Choriocarcinoma is a malignant tumor that typically appears in gonadal organs and primarily occurs in women of reproductive age. Being a primary extragonadal choriocarcinoma, primary pulmonary choriocarcinoma (PPC) is an extremely rare condition. Due to the rarity of PPC, no standardized treatment has been established so far.

Proinflammatory cytokines are mainly produced by monocytes in response to infectious pathogens. This study investigated the levels of proinflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), and IL-12 in Vietnamese patients with dengue, and their correlations with the clinical outcome of dengue infection in 156 patients clinically classified as dengue without warning signs (DWS-, = 87), dengue with warning signs (DWS+, = 62), and severe dengue (SD, = 7) patients as well as in 60 healthy controls (HCs).

This study aimed to investigate the contribution of human ficolin-2 and the functional FCN2 genetic variants in dengue virus (DENV) infection and in clinical progression.
Methods: FCN2 genetic polymorphisms in the promoter, intron 7 and exon 8 were genotyped in 279 patients with dengue fever and in 200 healthy controls by direct Sanger sequencing.
Objectives: During dengue fever, a pronounced gamma-interferon immune response produces neopterin and promotes tryptophan degradation by the enzyme indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO-1). Activated IDO-1 is indicated by an increased kynurenine to tryptophan ratio (Kyn/Trp) in patients.
Methods: Plasma levels of neopterin, kynurenine, and tryptophan were measured in 72 hospitalized dengue virus (DENV) patients and 100 healthy individuals.

However, up to date, there has not been any deep study on the role of wedelolactone for zymosan-induced signaling pathways in the process of regulating the excessive inflammatory responses in host. Here, we demonstrated that wedelolactone plays an essential role for regulation of zymosan-induced inflammatory responses in murine bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs).
