Despite the growing body of research suggesting certain pedagogical approaches that can support student well-being, higher education has not fully embraced these approaches and typically still does not view well-being as a high priority in comparison with other metrics such as retention or GPA. Here, we contend that universities must play an active role in supporting lifelong well-being in their student populations by expanding their definitions of student success and providing opportunities and programs that support elements related to well-being. We propose a student well-being nexus, which comprises a sense of belonging, agency, purpose, identity, civic engagement, and financial well-being.

This study demonstrates a large roof (30,000 m) rainwater harvesting (RWH) system in an indoor arena by considering three water demand scenarios (toilet flushing, irrigation and combined demand) via hydraulic and economic assessments. The water saving efficiency (WSE) of the RWH system for each scenario was estimated by a simulation model using historical daily rainfall data (1968-2018). Depending on the water demand, the WSE was found to be independent of tank size when the tank size exceeded 1000 m.

Background: Given the existing strong cross-sectional relationship between nonmedical opioid use (NMOU) and major depressive disorder (MDD), this study focused on the temporal relationship between NMOU and major depression.

Methods: Data sources were derived from Wave 1 and Wave 2 of the National Epidemiological Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions. Logistic regression was applied to predicted NMOU at the follow-up survey based on baseline MDD diagnosis and symptoms of MDD among the sample without lifetime NMOU at baseline (N=32,982).

Electron stimulated modifications of the rutile TiO(110) surface have been investigated using scanning tunnelling microscopy tip pulses and electron beam irradiation. Tip pulses on the 'as-prepared' surface induce local surface reconstruction and removal of surface hydroxyls in a region around the reconstruction. A defocused beam from an electron gun as well as tip pulses have been used to generate a number of oxygen deficient surfaces.

Accumulation and aggregation of TDP-43 is a major pathological hallmark of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia. TDP-43 inclusions also characterize patients with GGGGCC (G4C2) hexanucleotide repeat expansion in C9orf72 that causes the most common genetic form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia (C9ALS/FTD). Functional studies in cell and animal models have identified pathogenic mechanisms including repeat-induced RNA toxicity and accumulation of G4C2-derived dipeptide-repeat proteins.
