Aims: Cervical Cancer (CC) is one of the most important health problems in women. It frequently presents genetic changes at chromosome region 3q21. This region contains the Cellular Retinol Binding Protein 1 gene (CRBP1) which has been implicated as an important element in the development of other types of cancer.

Determinants and prognostic importance of cardiomegaly among new ESRD patients in the United States.

Purpose: Cardiomegaly is a radiographic abnormality of major prognostic importance in the general population. We explored the clinical correlations and mortality impact of cardiomegaly in new end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients from the Dialysis Morbidity and Mortality Study Wave 2.

Methods: Radiographic data denoting the presence or absence of cardiomegaly were available for 97% (n=3908) of the entire cohort.
