Background: Bronchogenic cyst is a rare congenital malformation and commonly located in the mediastinum and lung parenchyma.
Objective: To determine the clinical characteristics of the patients with diagnosis of bronchogenic cysts, their location and the infectious bacteria when the cysts are infected. The cases were collected from 1 January 2005 to 1 January 2013, in a third level hospital.
Background: Malignant mesothelioma is a neoplasm of bad prognosis, it is linked with asbestos contact, but there are cases without this antecedent.
Objective: To investigate the relationship of asbestos exposition and other factors with malignant mesothelioma.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of histologic confirmed cases of malignant mesothelioma, neoplasic familiar history, tobacco smoking, exposure to wood smoke and to asbestos, were annotated in a paired case/control study 1: 1-3 with logistic regression model to identify risk factors for OR.
Background: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a localized fibrous mesothelioma and was originally described as a benign pleural lesion. It is a mesenchymatous lesion that has been found in different structures and tissues of the human organism. It originates from a stromal fibroblastic cell positive to CD4.

A case of an aggressive angiomyxoma of vulva in a 39-years-old women with an illness of one year prior to examination, with a slow and progressive growth of the left vulvar region, without other symptoms. During physical examination, a piriform tumor of 15x10 cm was found, located on the left labia majora, soft tissue dependent.

Case: A 66-year-old male had a history o productive coughing with mucopurulent expectoration, progressive dyspnea, arthralgias, myalgias, astenia and adynamia for the previous 3 months. A CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a poorly limited tumor mass ofheterogeneous den sity in the anterior mediastinum.
Background: Thymolipomas are the most outstanding mesenchymal mediastinal tumors although they represent only a small percentage of thymic neoplasms. Their histogenesis remains unsolved, and they are usually benign. Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) has become the method of choice for the study of mediastinal tumors, including thymolipomas.

Of the embolic complications, deep vein thrombosis is the most frequent and 15-24% of patients could present with amniotic fluid embolism. In the case of a 42-year-old female who had this syndrome, it was considered an obstetric catastrophe.

The present study was undertaken to investigate the frequency of HHV-6 reactivation in viral (HCV, HBV) and alcoholic liver diseases and its implication for the course of the primary disease. Serological and immunohistochemical tests were done to document viral activity, hepatocellular apoptosis or proliferation, and autoantibody formation.
