Linear polarization (LP) and circular polarization (CP) holds paramount importance in Ku, K, and Ka bands for satellite based communication, and remote sensing applications. Satellite based remote sensing applications face challenges like atmospheric attenuation, noise & interference, and signal degradation. Moreover, satellite based communication application demands CP in two distinct, non-adjacent frequency bands with orthogonal polarizations at greater oblique angles, considering the unpredictable incidence angles of electromagnetic (EM) waves.

Article Synopsis
  • Acute caustic gastric injuries result in high rates of mortality and morbidity, with damage ranging from mild irritation to severe necrosis and complications like fistulas or strictures.
  • Timely diagnosis and management are essential, with endoscopy being important but not suitable for critically ill patients, leading to a preference for thoraco-abdominal CT scans instead.
  • The CT scan is non-invasive, effectively evaluates the gastrointestinal tract and surrounding organs, and enhances emergency care by accurately identifying patients who may require surgery.

The genus is known to contain diterpenoids, and several isolated compounds which exhibited biological activities including significant multidrug resistance reversal effects. This work is focused on the isolation, and studies of two natural bio-active flavonoids ( & ) isolated from bark for the very first time. The phytochemical investigation resulted in the identification of two flavonoids: 3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-6-methoxy-4H-chromen-4-one and 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-6-methoxy-4H-chromen-4-one , which were isolated for the first time from .

In this paper, we present a novel pedestrian indoor positioning system that uses sensor fusion between a foot-mounted inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a vision-based fiducial marker tracking system. The goal is to provide an after-action review for first responders during training exercises. The main contribution of this work comes from the observation that different walking types (e.

Inspired from the leishmanicidal and antibacterial potential of the fractions obtained from the crude extract of stem, the anti-leishmanial ethyl acetate fraction was subjected to chromatographic separation, leading to the isolation of a new compound ferruginan () and a known compound (+)- cycloolivil (). The structures of and were determined by various spectroscopic techniques and were assayed for their antibacterial and leishmanicidal potential. Compound showed 75% inhibition after 24 h of incubation and 98% inhibition after 48 h of incubation against KWH23 promastigotes at 100 μg/mL concentration, while compound exhibited 73% and 96% inhibition at the same concentration and incubation time.

Article Synopsis
  • An effective preoperative assessment for breast reduction surgery involves accurately locating the nipple-areola complex to ensure proper placement in the new breast structure, as correcting incorrect positioning is challenging.
  • Traditional methods for nipple localization rely on subjective techniques that may lead to errors, particularly in larger breasts, creating a need for a more accurate approach.
  • The proposed method utilizes geometric principles, placing the nipple at the lower angles of a triangle based on measurements from the sternal angle, resulting in successful placements across 40 patients and enhancing the accuracy and confidence of trainee surgeons.
