Electrochromic supercapacitors (ECSCs) offer real-time visual monitoring of the energy storage status, highlighting their applicability in cutting-edge electronic devices. Herein, we employed a layer-by-layer self-assembly approach to fabricate a WO/[PEI/PW] nanocomposite depositing the Dawson-type polyoxometalate (POM) K[PWO]·14HO (PW) onto WO nanofibers. The distinctive bird-nest-like network structure of the nanocomposite, featuring a 3D conductive pathway and unobstructed ion diffusion channels, significantly enhanced the kinetics of ion/electron transfer and facilitated its excellent electrochemical performance.

Optical camouflage offers an effective strategy for enhancing the survival chances of underwater flexible electronic devices akin to underwater organisms. Photochromism is one of the most effective methods to achieve optical camouflage. In this study, antiswelling hydrogels with photochromic properties were prepared using a two-step solvent replacement strategy and explored as underwater optically camouflaged flexible electronic devices.

Six new neoclerodane diterpenoids (1-6), along with ten known compounds (7-16), were isolated from Ajuga forrestii. Their structures were elucidated by HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR, ECD calculation, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The structure of a known neoclerodane diterpene ajudecunoid C (6) was revised based on the reported NMR empirical rules.

Ferroptosis is a new type of cell death associated with many human diseases. It is a new strategy to discover ferroptosis inhibitors for the treatment of ferroptosis-related diseases. Here the FDA-approved drug library containing 1160 molecules was screened for ferroptosis inhibitors in RSL3-induced HT22 mouse hippocampal neuronal cells.

Visual patterns are basic elements in images and represent the discernible regularity in the visual world. Thus, mining visual patterns is a fundamental task in computer vision. Most previous studies consider that only one visual pattern exists in a category, and then builds up a one-to-one mapping using category label.

Owing to the combination of high carrier mobility and saturation velocity, low intrinsic capacitance, and excellent stability, the carbon nanotube (CNT) has been considered as a perfect semiconductor to construct radio frequency (RF) field-effect transistors (FETs) and circuits with an ultrahigh frequency band. However, the reported CNT RF FETs usually exhibited poor real performance indicated by the as-measured maximum oscillation frequency (), and then the amplifiers, which are the most important and fundamental RF circuits, suffered from a low power gain and a low frequency band. In this work, we build RF transistors on solution-derived randomly orientated CNT films with improved quality and uniformity.

Silicon-based complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) has been the mainstream logic style for modern digital integrated circuits (ICs) for decades but will meet its performance limits soon. Extensive investigations have thus been carried out using other semiconductors, especially those with extremely high carrier mobility. However, these materials usually have small or even zero band gap, which leads inevitably to large leakage current or voltage loss in ICs based on these semiconductors.

Single-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) may enable the fabrication of integrated circuits smaller than 10 nanometers, but this would require scalable production of dense and electronically pure semiconducting nanotube arrays on wafers. We developed a multiple dispersion and sorting process that resulted in extremely high semiconducting purity and a dimension-limited self-alignment (DLSA) procedure for preparing well-aligned CNT arrays (within alignment of 9 degrees) with a tunable density of 100 to 200 CNTs per micrometer on a 10-centimeter silicon wafer. Top-gate field-effect transistors (FETs) fabricated on the CNT array show better performance than that of commercial silicon metal oxide-semiconductor FETs with similar gate length, in particular an on-state current of 1.

The challenging conditions encountered during long sea voyages increase the risk of health-threatening physiological and psychological stress for sailors compared with land-based workers. However, how the intestinal microbiota responds to a long sea voyage and whether there is a feasible approach for protecting gut health during sea voyage are still unexplored. Here, we designed a 30-d longitudinal study including a placebo group ( = 42) and a probiotic group ( = 40) and used shotgun metagenomic sequencing to explore the impacts of sea voyage on the intestinal microbiome of sailors.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been considered a preferred channel material for constructing high-performance radio frequency (RF) transistors with outstanding current gain cutoff frequency () and power gain cutoff frequency () but the highest reported is only 70 GHz. Here, we explore how good RF transistors based on solution-derived randomly oriented semiconducting CNT films, which are the most mature CNT materials for scalable fabrication of transistors and integrated circuits, can be achieved. Owing to the significantly reduced number of CNT/CNT junctions obtained by scaling the channel length down to below 100 nm, we realized RF field-effect transistors (FETs) with maximum transconductance up to 0.

We studied the outcomes of children with APL treated by the Beijing Children's Hospital's (BCH) acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) 2005 protocol (BCH-APL2005). The clinical data of 77 patients enrolled from January 2005 to June 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. The hematologic complete remission (CR) rate and overall survival (OS) rate were evaluated between standard-risk (SR) and high-risk (HR) groups.

Background and Purpose- Accumulated evidence suggests that hemin-a breakdown product of hemoglobin-plays a pivotal role in the inflammatory injuries that result after hemorrhagic stroke through the Toll Like Receptor 2-Toll Like Receptor 4 signal pathway. However, the mechanism of how hemin triggers neuronal necroptosis directly after intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) is still an area of active research. As animal model and preclinical studies have shown, the recombinant interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) improves clinical outcomes after stroke.

Mosquito-repellent incense is one of the most popular products used for dispelling mosquitos during summer in China. It releases large amounts of particulate and gaseous pollutants which constitute a potential hazard to human health. We conducted chamber experiment to characterize major pollutants from three types of mosquito-repellent incenses, further assessed the size-fractionated deposition in human respiratory system, and evaluated the indoor removing efficiency by fresh air.

Background: It has been reported that colorectal motility dysfunction due to pelvic nerve (PN) damage is restored overtime. However, the adaptive mechanism is unknown. Previous studies implied that transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (TRPA1) mediated sensory nerve signal input plays a crucial role in gut motility regulation.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compares the effectiveness of the BCH-2003 and CCLG-2008 treatment protocols for children with TEL-AML1 fusion gene positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
  • Both treatment groups showed similar clinical characteristics, but the BCH-2003 protocol resulted in a lower rate of minimal residual disease (MRD) compared to the CCLG-2008.
  • Despite the faster reduction of leukemia load with BCH-2003, the overall outcomes (event-free survival and relapse-free survival) for both protocols were found to be comparable.

The study was aimed to investigate the relation between the expression level of TEL-AML1 (translocation ETS leukemia-acute myeloid leukemia 1) fusion gene and clinical characteristics as well as early response to treatment in children with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). With real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR), the expression level of TEL-AML1 at diagnosis and MRD (minimal residual disease) at the end of induction of remission were detected in 35 children with ALL, including 20 SR (standard risk) and 15 IR (intermediate risk) patients. The expression level of TEL-AML1 and clinical characteristics at diagnosis were compared between MRD negative and MRD positive patients.
