Background: Species that experience outbreaks and those that display density-dependent phase polymorphism demonstrate density-dependent prophylaxis (DDP) by increasing their immune investment in response to increasing densities. Despite this phenomenon, the mechanisms of DDP remain largely unexplored.

Results: Here, we showed that Spodoptera litura exhibited heightened cuticular melanization and enhanced cuticular immune responses when reared at higher population density.

Introduction: Cervical cancer remains a significant challenge in oncology with an escalating demand for novel therapeutic strategies that can navigate the complexities of its pathophysiology. This study elucidated the antineoplastic effects of cryptotanshinone, a derivative of danshen (), a herb widely utilized in traditional Chinese medicine practices.

Methods: Employing a comprehensive multi-omics approach, including transcriptomic, proteomic, and bioinformatics analyses, we investigated the potential effects of cryptotanshinone on cervical cancer through data mining and computational analysis.

Background: Cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes (CAPS) have been considered autoinflammatory diseases resulting from gene mutations. In recent years, these conditions have been redefined as -associated autoinflammatory diseases (-AID). Our previous study highlighted a case of a Chinese individual carrying the mutation.

The determination of trace rare-earth elements (REEs) can be used for the assessment of environmental pollution, and is of great significance to the study of toxicity and toxicology in animals and plants. N, N, N', N'-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA) is an environmental friendly extractant that is highly selective to REEs. In this study, an analytical method was developed for the simultaneous determination of 16 trace REEs in simulated water samples by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES).
