6-Aryl-2-picolinic acid herbicides are an important subclass of auxin herbicides, characterized by their good absorption and conductivity, broad weed control spectrum, and excellent herbicidal activity against some resistant weeds. Based on previous studies from our group and the distinct characteristics of physico-chemical properties and biological activities of active skeleton structure containing fluorine atoms, this paper introduces the design and synthesis of 41 novel 4-amino-6-(5-aryl-substituted-1-pyrazolyl)-3-chloro-5-fluoro-2-picolinic acid compounds. The test of inhibiting roots growth showed that most of the -series compounds exhibited superior inhibitory effects compared to picloram, with six compounds demonstrated even better inhibitory capability than the new herbicidal molecule florpyrauxifen.

With topological spin texture, magnetic domain walls have soliton-like dynamic behaviors in magnetic nanowires, which can be used in information transmission and storage technology. Therefore, precisely controlling the dynamic behavior of the magnetic domain wall and its pinning behavior is one of the important technical challenges in realizing domain-wall-based spintronic devices. In this work, a geometrically defect-free scheme for domain wall pinning/depinning is proposed using micromagnetic simulations based on a tie-shaped asymmetric nanowire, which can precisely control the position of the magnetic domain wall in an external magnetic field.

Platinum-group metals catalysts (such as Rh, Pd, Ir, Pt) have been the most efficient hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalysts due to their moderate H adsorption strength, while the high HO-dissociation barrier in alkaline media restrains the catalytic performance of PGM catalysts. However, the optimization of the HO-dissociation barrier and *H/*OH binding energy toward their individual optima is limited due to the constraints of their scaling relationship on a single active site. Here, a coordinatively unsaturated "M─O─W" (M = Rh, Pd, Ir, Pt) active area is constructed, where H and OH species are anchored on Pt-group metal sites and inactive W sites for individual regulation.

  • Mitochondrial dysfunction and Müller cell gliosis are key factors in retinal degeneration that can lead to blindness, and stem cell therapy offers a potential treatment option.
  • The study showed that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) can transfer their mitochondria to Müller cells, improving their function and reducing harmful effects like oxidative stress and gliosis.
  • RNA sequencing analysis indicated that this mitochondrial transfer enhances the mitochondrial DNA content and fusion in Müller cells, suggesting it can help protect against the progression of retinal degeneration.

Membrane with remarkable proton conductance and selectivity plays a key role in obtaining high vanadium flow battery (VFB) performance. In this work, the trade-off effect between proton conductance and vanadium ion blocking was overcome by the introduction of a cross-linking structure to prepare covalent cross-linked fluorine-containing sulfonated polyimide (CFSPI-PVA) membranes. Herein, the CFSPI-PVA-15 membrane possesses excellent comprehensive properties, including acceptable area resistance (0.

Vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), a highly conserved dimeric glycoprotein, is a key regulatory gene and a marker molecule of angiogenesis. The upregulation of VEGF-A facilitates the process of tumor vascularization, thereby fostering the initiation and progression of malignant neoplasms. Many genes can adjust the angiogenesis of tumors by changing the expression of VEGF-A.

Vaccines typically work by eliciting an immune response against larger antigens like polysaccharides or proteins. Small molecules like nicotine, on their own, usually cannot elicit a strong immune response. To overcome this, anti-nicotine vaccines often conjugate nicotine molecules to a carrier protein by carbodiimide crosslinking chemistry to make them polymeric and more immunogenic.
