This study aimed to evaluate the effect of paternal exposure to fenvalerate on depressive-like behaviours in adolescent offspring. Depression-like behavior was determined by Sucrose Preference Test (SPT), Tail Suspension Test (TST) and Forced Swimming Test (FST) in adolescent offspring.

Angucyclines/angucyclinones, a class of polyketides with diverse chemical structures, display various bioactivities including antibacterial or antifungal, anticancer, anti-neuroinflammatory, and anti-α-glucosidase activities. Marine and terrestrial microorganisms have made significant contributions to the discovery of bioactive angucyclines/angucyclinones. This review covers 283 bioactive angucyclines/angucyclinones discovered from 1965 to 2023, and the emphasis is on the biological origins, chemical structures, and biological activities of these interesting natural products.

How to enhance persulfate processes by external-field effects: From fundamentals to applications.

Persulfate-based advanced oxidation processes (PS-AOPs) are considered as efficient techniques for the degradation of contaminants, whereas the effective activation methods for reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation play vital roles in PS-AOPs. However, the internal electric field mediated activation methods, like introducing chemicals and materials, are often restricted by their intrinsic properties. Conversely, the introduction of external fields can provide extra energy to remarkably enhance the PS activation performance from outside, acting as an additional impetus to promote the cleavage of OO bond and thus improve the generation efficiency of ROS.

Purpose: To explore the causes and outcomes of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in the adolescent STD patients (ASPs) in relation to their access to and interpretation of sexual and STD knowledge, their attitudes towards premarital sex, and their feelings and thoughts after getting STDs.

Methods: A qualitative study was conducted to interview 16 ASPs (12 males, 4 females) using convenience sampling. One-on-one, semi-structured, and confidential interviews were conducted in an outpatient clinic room at a dermatology hospital in Guangzhou, China.
