The catalytic performance of oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts is influenced by their elemental composition. Aluminum (Al) offers abundant active sites due to its high oxidation affinity, which makes it unstable in both acidic and alkaline environments. We used the gas atomization method (GAM) to prepare the aluminum-containing single-phase high-entropy alloy AlCoCrFeNi ( = 0, 0.

The lack of evidence and socioeconomic factors may contribute to underutilization of growth hormone therapy (GHT) among survivors with aGHD.
Objectives: To examine the association of GHT use with socioeconomic factors and to assess the impact of untreated aGHD in survivors using insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF1) as a marker of GH action.
Background: Young adult survivors of childhood cancer exhibit rates of frailty similar to adults several decades older without a cancer history. Frailty has been associated with sleep disturbances in non-cancer populations, but the relationship has not been examined in childhood cancer survivors who are known to exhibit elevated rates of sleep problems.
Aims: Examine associations between frailty and poor sleep quality in long-term survivors of childhood cancer.
Aqueous Zn-ion electrochromic devices (ZECDs) are attractive cheap, multifunctional and green energy saving technologies but are bottlenecked by limitations in ion diffusion kinetics within electrodes and the compatibility of electrolytes to achieve satisfactory stability. Here, key bulk properties (such as hydrogen bonding, ions conductivity, pH and electrochemical stability, etc.) of various aqueous Zn-ions electrolytes and the Zn-ions migration kinetics in amorphous WO electrochromic electrodes were systematically investigated through combining experimental and theoretical analyses.

First, we achieve complete synchronization between the average behaviors of these oscillators. We then derive the exact analytical expression for the output amplitude gain, and based on this, we observe generalized stochastic resonance (GSR) in the system.

We also collected information on their immunohistochemical expression and clinical outcomes.

In DM1, RNA foci sequester muscleblind-like protein 1 (MBNL1) in the nucleus, inhibiting its role in regulating SSC proliferation. Aerobic training reduces glycolysis and increases SSC proliferation and muscle fiber volume.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFrom the noise-assisted perspective of stochastic resonance (SR), fractional system has been adopted to enhance the diagnostic performance of mechanical faults by utilizing the previous state information in mechanical degradation process, but the computation is extremely time-consuming. To address this challenge, we develop a fast diagnosis method leveraging the mechanism of generalized SR (GSR)-based active energy conversion in fluctuating-damping fractional oscillator (FDFO). Through the analysis of system stationary response, we propose a theoretical index known as fault feature amplification (FFA), which effectively replaces the time-consuming numerical solution in multi-parameter optimization, leading to a remarkable reduction in the time complexity of the adaptive diagnosis algorithm.

In this study, we introduce a protein-polymer bioconjugate comprising bovine serum albumin (BSA) and a lipid-based thermoresponsive block copolymer. These amphiphilic BSA-polymer conjugates can autonomously be organized into vesicular compartments for codelivery of glucose oxidase (GOx) and doxorubicin (DOX), demonstrating high drug loading content and remarkable antitumor activity via synergistic cancer therapy combining chemo-starvation strategies. Through the incorporation of a hydrophilic BSA block, the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of the bioconjugates is tuned to around 40 °C, facilitating their targeted drug delivery to tumor cells.

Long-term latency depends on specific T cell immune reconstitution, which identifies various pathogens by T cell receptors (TCRs). However, the mechanisms underlying the selection of CMV-specific TCRs in recipients after transplantation remain unclear.

In this paper, sulfurized pitch-based carbon (SPC-800) was obtained by allowing CTP to react with sulfur at 350 °C and subsequently achieve carbonization at 800 °C. SPC-800 was more disordered and had a larger layer spacing than carbonized CTP (PC-800).

Methods: A retrospective research was conducted, and consecutive cancer (digestive, respiratory, genitourinary, blood and lymphatic, and the other cancers) patients with VTE were enrolled. The anticoagulation therapies included low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH), warfarin, new type of direct oral anticoagulants (NDOACs), LMWH combined with warfarin, and LMWH combined with NDOACs.
Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) exposure has been linked with gastrointestinal toxicity, whereas the molecular pathways and key targets remain elusive. Computational toxicology analysis predicted the correlation between protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) and genes regarding Cr(VI)-induced intestinal injury. Here, we generated a mouse model with intestinal epithelium-specific knock out of Ppp2r1a (encoding PP2A Aα subunit) to investigate the mechanisms underlying Cr(VI)-induced small intestinal toxicity.

Methods: Plasma levels of legumain from patients with atherosclerosis (n = 320) and healthy controls (n = 320), expression of legumain in atheromatous plaque and secreted from monocyte-derived macrophages were measured using enzyme-linked-immunosorbent assay, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescence.
Results: Data demonstrated that atherosclerotic patients had higher plasma level of legumain than healthy controls, which was a diagnostic and prognostic marker and corrected with the degree of atherosclerosis.
Incongruent perceptions of parental emotional expressivity between parents and adolescents may signify relational challenges, potentially impacting adolescents' socioemotional adjustment. Direct evidence is still lacking and father-adolescent discrepancies are overlooked. This study employed a multi-informant design to investigate whether both mother-adolescent and father-adolescent discrepancies in perceptions of parental expressivity are related to adolescents' mental well-being, specifically focusing on loneliness and depression.
