Objective: To explore the diagnostic value of glycated CD59 (gCD59) in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Methods: A total of 707 pregnant women who underwent the first visit in the obstetric outpatient clinic of the Affliated Suqian Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2022 to July 2023 were included, and were grouped according to the International Association of the Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups(IADPSG) diagnostic criteria, and finally 113 cases in the GDM group and 559 cases in the normal glucose tolerance (NGT) group were included, and the concentration of gCD59 was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The baseline data characteristics of the two groups were compared, the risk factors for GDM were explored by multivariate binary logistic analysis, and the diagnostic value of gCD59 in predicting GDM was explored by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis.
Objective: To identify the correlation of thyroid function and subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) with sarcopenia and its components in the older Chinese adults.
Methods: Older adults were recruited and divided into SCH group and non-SCH group. Free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4) and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) were measured by electrochemiluminescence.

Hypothesis: With the rapid development of economy and global industrialization, the problem of air pollution has become a worldwide topic. The efficient filtration of airborne particulate matters (PMs) is critical for human health and environmental sustainability.
Experiments: Herein, self-supporting bio-based polyelectrolyte aerogels were prepared and acted as the advanced filters for efficient removal of PMs.

Backgrounds: Diabetic retinopathy (DR), the main retinal vascular complication of DM, is the leading cause of visual impairment and blindness among working-age people worldwide. The aim of this study was to investigate the difference of plasma metabolic profiles in patients with DR to better understand the mechanism of this disease and disease progression.
Methods: We used ultrahigh-performance liquid Q-Exactive mass spectrometry and multivariate statistical analyses to conduct a comprehensive analysis of plasma metabolites in a population with DR and proliferative DR (PDR).
Semaphorin 7A (SEMA7A) is a membrane-bound protein that involves axon growth and other biological processes. SEMA7A mutations are associated with vertebral fracture and Kallmann syndrome. Here, we report a case with a mutation in SEMA7A that displays familial cholestasis.

Purpose: MicroRNA-93 (miR-93) usually acts as a promoter of tumor progression in several human carcinomas. It has been found distinctly high in eyes with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (DR). The present study aims to investigate the role of plasma miR-93 in the progression of type 2 diabetic retinopathy (T2DR).

The accumulation and transfer of Pb, Zn, Cu, and Cd along a soil-plant-insect-chicken food chain at contaminated sites were investigated. The study site nearing the Pb/Zn mine had been contaminated by heavy metals severely. Cadmium and Pb concentrations steadily declined with increasing trophic level (p < 0.

Soil properties, microbial communities and enzyme activities were studied in soil amended with replicase (RP)-transgenic or non-transgenic papaya under field conditions. Compared with non-transgenic papaya, significant differences (P<0.05) were observed in total nitrogen in soils grown with transgenic papaya.
