Rapid isolation and identification of lactic acid bacteria and yeasts during fermentation is of great significance for quality control and regulation of fermented foods. In this study, we prepared a multi-channel magnetic flow device for rapid separation and purification of lactic acid bacteria and yeast, and based on SERS spectrum, we made rapid qualitative and quantitative analysis of Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactococcus lactis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The results showed that the synthesized Synthesized FeO-Van antibiotic magnetic beads are paramagnetic; FeO-Van antibiotic magnetic beads achieved capture efficiencies of more than 98.

Cartilage injury is common in orthopedics and cartilage tissue engineering provides a therapeutic direction for cartilage regeneration. Albumin (ALB)-platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is speculated to be an ideal natural scaffold material for cartilage tissue engineering theoretically as a product derived from human venous blood. Through and experiments, it was demonstrated that ALB-PRF displayed porous structure and slowly released growth factors (TGF-β1, PDGF-AA, PDGF-AB, PDGF-BB, EGF, IGF-1 and VEGF), ALB-PRF conditioned media promoted proliferation, migration, adhesion, phenotype maintenance and extracellular matrix secretion of rabbit chondrocytes.

Carbon dots (CDs) based room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials can be prepared via facile procedures and exhibit excellent photostability and biocompatibility. Furthermore, doping of hetero-atoms into CDs can afford multiple triplet levels. The RTP emission generated from the resultant CDs always displays outstanding dynamic behaviors and even can be efficiently excited by visible light.

Hepatitis delta virus (HDV) is a satellite virus that requires hepadnavirus envelope proteins for its transmission. Although recent studies identified HDV-related deltaviruses in certain animals, the evolution of deltaviruses, such as the origin of HDV and the mechanism of its coevolution with its helper viruses, is unknown, mainly because of the phylogenetic gaps among deltaviruses. Overexpression of metastatic tumor antigen 1 (MTA1) was correlated with poor prognosis of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC). The aim of this study was to examine the clinical significance of the expression of MTA1 and its exon 4-excluded form (MTA1dE4), the most abundant spliced variant of MTA1, in patients receiving curative resection for HBV-HCC. We collected 102 patients with HBV-HCC and received curative resection retrospectively and examined the expressions level of total MTA1/MTA1dE4 in their paired nontumor and tumor liver tissues by using RT-qPCR.

The natural course of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) infection and treatment response are determined mainly by the genomic characteristics of the individual. We investigated liver gene expression profiles to reveal the molecular basis associated with chronic hepatitis B and IFN-alpha (IFNα) treatment response in CHB patients. Expression profiles were compared between seven paired liver biopsy samples taken before and 6 months after successful IFNα treatment or between pretreatment biopsy samples of 11 IFNα responders and 11 non-responders.
