Large-scale neural population recordings with single-cell resolution across the primate brain remain challenging. Here we introduce the Neuroscroll probe that isolates single neuronal activities simultaneously from 1,024 densely spaced channels that are flexibly distributed across the shank of the probe. The Neuroscroll probe length is easily tunable for individual probes from 10 mm to 90 mm, covering the brain size of non-human primates and humans, and the probes remain intact and functional after repeated bending deformations.

Background: Acute nutrition-related adverse outcomes are common in head and neck cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy. Predictive models can assist in identifying high-risk patients to enable targeted intervention. We aimed to systematically evaluate predictive models for predicting severe acute nutritional symptoms, insufficient intake, tube feeding, sarcopenia, and weight loss.

The application of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for the photocatalytic reduction of CO is mostly limited by severe charge recombination and low sunlight utilization. Herein, a triazine-based COF with an electron-rich and large π-conjugated system (TCOF) was employed as a building block and integrated with CuInS (CIS) to construct a noble-metal-free and high-efficiency photocatalyst for CO reduction. The in situ growth of CIS nanosheets on TCOF creates a - heterojunction, named CIS@TCOF.

Swine enteric coronaviruses (SECs) cause significant economic losses to the pig industry in China. Although many commercialized vaccines against transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) and porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) are available, viruses are still widespread. The recent emergence of porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) and swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV), for which no vaccines are available, increases the disease burden.

The reduction of CO into high value-added chemicals and fuels by a photocatalytic technology can relieve energy shortages and the environmental problems caused by greenhouse effects. In the current work, an amino-functionalized zirconium metal organic framework (Zr-MOF) was covalently modified with different functional groups via the condensation of Zr-MOF with 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde (PA), salicylaldehyde (SA), benzaldehyde (BA), and trifluoroacetic acid (TA), named Zr-MOF-X (X = PA, SA, BA, and TA), respectively, through the post-synthesis modification. Compared with Zr-MOF and Zr-MOF-TA, the introduction of PA, SA, or BA into the framework of Zr-MOF can not only enhance the visible-light harvesting and CO capture, but also accelerate the photogenerated charge separation and transfer, thereby improving the photocatalytic ability of Zr-MOF for CO reduction.

Flexible implantable electrodes enable months-long stable recording of single-unit signals from rat brains. Despite extensive efforts in the development of flexible probes for brain recording, thus far there are no conclusions on their application in long-term single neuronal recording from the spinal cord which is more mechanically active. To this end, we realized the chronic recording of single-unit signals from the spinal cord of freely-moving rats using flexible carbon nanotube fiber (CNTF) electrodes.
