Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of ensitrelvir, an oral antiviral, in reducing hospitalization risk in outpatients at high-risk for severe COVID-19 during the Omicron era.
Methods: This was a retrospective study using a large Japanese health insurance claims database. It included high-risk outpatients for severe symptoms who received their first COVID-19 diagnosis between November 2022 and July 2023.
A natural amino acid, aspartic acid, was modified to bind to silica microspheres with a click chemistry method (-Click Asp). The modified Click Asp microspheres were further modified by incorporating Fe ions, resulting in Fe and Click Asp based immobilized ion affinity chromatography (IMAC)(Fe-Click Asp). The prepared materials were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, X-ray photoelectron spectrometry, and scanning electron microscopy, and it was confirmed that Fe-Click Asp was successfully prepared.

The extinguished fear response can be reinstated after the animal experiences a mild unconditioned stimulus. Although extensive studies on the neuronal circuitry and neurochemical mechanisms leading to fear acquisition and extinction have been carried out, few studies have focused on reinstatement.

Here, we show that curcumin, tannic acid (TA) and (+)-catechin hydrate (CA) all inhibited glutamate-induced excitotoxicity. Curcumin inhibited PKC activity, and subsequent phosphorylation of NR1 of the NMDA receptor.
