During viral infection, the transport of various proteins between the nucleus and cytoplasm plays an important role in the viral lifecycle. Shuttling proteins are key factors in the transmission of nucleocytoplasmic information within cells and usually contain nuclear localization signals and nuclear export signals to mediate correct positioning for themselves and other proteins. The nucleocytoplasmic transport process is carried out through the nuclear pore complex on the nuclear envelope and is mediated by specific protein carriers.

Methods: Postoperative pathological data of 248 ccRCC patients from two centers were retrospectively collected. Univariate and multivariate regression analyses were used to identify clinical and image features of ccRCC patients to construct a clinical model.
The central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) status in the cervical region serves as a pivotal determinant for the extent of surgical intervention and prognosis in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). This paper seeks to devise and validate a predictive model based on clinical parameters for the early anticipation of high-volume CLNM (hv-CLNM, > 5 nodes) in high-risk patients. A retrospective analysis of the pathological and clinical data of patients with PTC who underwent surgical treatment at Medical Centers A and B was conducted.

Peroxymonosulfate (PMS) could be activated by either radical path or non-radical path, how to rationally mediate these two routines was an important unresolved issue. This work has introduced a simple way to address this problem via metal atom doping. It was found that Fe-doped nitrogen-rich graphitic carbon nitride (Fe-CN) exhibited high activity towards PMS activation for tetracycline degradation, and the degradation rate was 3.

Objective: To develop and validate a radiomics-clinical combined model combining preoperative computed tomography (CT) and clinical data from patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) to predict the efficacy of initial postoperative 131I treatment.
Methods: A total of 181 patients with PTC who received total thyroidectomy and initial 131I treatment were divided into training and testing sets (7:3 ratio). Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression were used to screen clinical factors affecting the therapeutic response to 131I treatment and construct a clinical model.
Metastasis is the main cause of colorectal cancer (CRC)-related death, and the 5-year relative survival rate for CRC patients with distant metastasis is only 14%. X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis (XIAP)-associated factor 1 (XAF1) is a zinc-rich protein belonging to the interferon (IFN)-induced gene family. Here, we report a metastasis-promoting role of XAF1 in CRC by acting as a novel adaptor of valosin-containing protein (VCP).

Rapid diagnostic tests are highly desirable in point-of-care (POC) and emergency laboratories with limited resources. Here, we developed a multiplex lateral flow assay based on asymmetric PCR and barcode capture probes for the simultaneous detection of KPC-2 and NDM-1.

Introduction: has become a major difficulty in the treatment of bacteria-associated infection. The previously reported antimicrobial peptide Cec4 exhibited good and stable activity against in vitro, but the mechanisms and effects in vivo are elusive.
Methods: The effects of Cec4 on bacterial membrane permeability, membrane potential and bacterial reactive oxygen species were measured.
Background: The rising prevalence of infections caused by carbapenem-resistant and hypervirulent (CR-hvKP) has outpaced our understanding of their evolutionary diversity. By straining the antimicrobial options and constant horizontal gene transfer of various pathogenic elements, CR-hvKP poses a global health threat.
Methods: Six isolates (KP1~KP6) from urine, sputum and groin infection secretion of a single patient were characterized phenotypically and genotypically.
Staphylococcus epidermidis is part of the normal microbiota that colonizes the skin and mucosal surfaces of human beings. Previous studies suggested that S. epidermidis possessed low virulence, but recent studies confirmed that it can acquire high virulence from Staphylococcus aureus and with the increasing detection of methicillin-resistant S.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become a growing public health problem. However, the complicated pathogenesis of NAFLD contributes to the deficiency of effective clinical treatment. Here, we demonstrated that liver-specific loss of Arid2 induced hepatic steatosis and this progression could be exacerbated by HFD.

Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 14D (PPP1R14D) is an inhibitor of PP1. However, the role of PPP1R14D in tumors and its mechanism of action are largely unknown.

The genomic analysis revealed an extensively drug-resistant ST11-K64 KP strain from five isolates (blood cultures, urine, ascites, pericardial effusion, and sputum). Several high virulence (hv) and carbapenem-resistant (CR) genes were identified in the pericardial effuse isolate.

Considering the emergence of resistance to therapies, it is urgent to develop more effective therapies to improve the prognosis. Here we reported that pancreatic progenitor cell differentiation and proliferation factor (PPDPF) deficiency inhibited LUAD development both in vitro and in vivo.

Background & Aims: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly heterogeneous solid tumor with high morbidity and mortality. AT-rich interaction domain 1A (ARID1A) accounts for up to 10% of mutations in liver cancer, however, its role in HCC remains controversial, and no targeted therapy has been established.
Methods: The expression of ARID1A in clinical samples was examined by Western blot and immunohistochemical staining.

In order to effectively prevent the damage to the human body caused by abnormal oxygen concentration in the medical hyperbaric oxygen chamber, a ZigBee-based medical hyperbaric oxygen chamber oxygen concentration automatic control system is designed. The data acquisition module uses the microprocessor STM32F103C8T6 to receive the oxygen concentration data of each acquisition point, and the ZigBee of the data processing module transmits the processing results to the MSP430G2553 single-chip microcomputer at the receiving end of the slave. The MSP430G2553 single-chip microcomputer uses a self-organizing TS fuzzy neural network (SOTSFNN) and adds activation.
