Flavonoids derived from plants in the citrus family can have an alleviating effect on allergic asthma. The aim of this study was to provide insights into the mechanisms by which these compounds exert their effects on allergic asthma by combining theoretical and practical approaches. Aurantii Fructus Immaturus flavonoids (AFIFs) were obtained by solvent extraction and were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

In clinical mastitis of dairy cows, the abnormal accumulation of apoptotic cells (ACs) and subsequent secondary necrosis and inflammation pose significant concerns, with macrophage-mediated efferocytosis, crucial for ACs clearance, remaining unexplored in this context. In nonruminants, MER proto-oncogene tyrosine kinase (MERTK) receptors are essential for efferocytosis and A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase 17 (ADAM17) is thought to play a role in regulating MERTK integrity. This study aimed to delineate the in situ role of efferocytosis in clinical mastitis, with a particular focus on the interaction between MERTK and ADAM17 in bovine macrophages.

Subclinical ketosis (SCK) is highly prevalent and easily overlooked, with insidious and slow progression of hepatic injury, often characterized by an imbalance in immune homeostasis. In nonruminants, macrophage polarization plays an important regulatory role in hepatic lipid accumulation, fibrosis and inflammatory processes. Thus, we aimed to investigate the status of hepatic macrophage polarization in SCK cows and to corroborate its association with liver injury and inflammation.

One-step on-chip preparation of nanoparticle-conjugated red blood cell carriers.

Red blood cell (RBC)-based carriers have emerged as promising vehicles for drug delivery due to their inherent biocompatibility and biodegradability. Traditional methods for loading nanoparticles (NPs) onto RBC surfaces often involve labor-intensive processes like incubation and multiple centrifugation steps, limiting their practicality and controllability. In this study, we introduce a fully integrated acoustofluidic platform that enables one-step preparation of NP-loaded RBC carriers with controlled modification and on-site purification.

A total of 470 stroke survivors were recruited through convenience sampling method in two northern tertiary hospitals in China. Stepwise multiple logistic regression models showed that multi-dimensional factors (except for political factors) accounted for 10.

Risk factors for hospitalization-associated disability among older patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: The outcomes of older patients are significantly limited by hospitalization-associated disability (HAD), and there are currently few available management options for HAD. This review aimed to identify and quantify the risk factors for HAD, to provide reliable evidence for developing a HAD prevention program centered on risk factor management among older patients.

Methods: The MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, CINAHL, and PubMed databases were searched in March 2024 to identify cross-sectional and cohort studies that used multivariable analysis to examine risk factors for HAD among older patients.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of fetuses with increased NT (≥95th centile) at 11-14 weeks of gestation between January 2020 and November 2020.

Results: Among 264 fetuses with increased NT, the median of CRL and NT was 61.

Therefore, we conducted a prospective study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and cost of early second shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) sessions versus ureterorenoscopy (URS) in patients with distal ureteral stones. This prospective study was conducted in a tertiary hospital from June 2020 to April 2022.

Worldwide productivity and research trend of publications concerning electroactive materials and spinal cord injury: A bibliometric study.

We investigated the current state and trends in the area during the previous 10 years using bibliometric approaches to evaluate the global scientific output of research on electroactive materials and spinal cord injury. Studies on spinal cord injury in electroactive materials that were published between 2012 and 2022 were located using the Web of science (WOS) datebase. The software programs bibliometrix R-package and CiteSpace were used to do quantitative analyses of annual publications, nation, author, institution, journal source, co-cited references, and keywords.

Prenatal assessment and pregnancy outcomes of foetal low-lying conus medullaris using 3D ultrasound.

Objectives: This study aims to follow up on low-lying conus medullaris (CM) cases and explore the correlation between the CM location and the final prognosis.  METHODS: We retrospectively collected 37 cases diagnosed with low-lying CM during pregnancy in the Peking University First Hospital from January 2019 to December 2020. The location of CM was confirmed by 3D ultrasonography, and clinical data, including postnatal outcomes, were recorded.
