A method using solid-phase microextraction-coupled to gas chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (SPME headspace GC-MS/MS) was developed and validated for the quantitative determination of six aromatic amines, including 1-aminonaphthalene (1-AN), 2-aminonaphthalene (2-AN), 3-aminobiphenyl (3-ABP), 4-aminobiphenyl (4-ABP), o-toluidine (o-TOL), and o-anisidine (o-ANI), in the mainstream smoke of cigarettes, cigars, and heated tobacco products.
