Hemophilia is caused by the deficiency of clotting factors due to a single genetic abnormality. Replacement therapies have evolved from plasma-derived to recombinant coagulation factor concentrates but continue to have certain limitations. Monoclonal antibodies are clinical prophylactic treatment options unaffected by inhibitors and have better compliance than coagulation factor concentrates for patients with hemophilia.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is capable of large-scale transmission and has caused the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Patients with COVID-19 may experience persistent long-term health issues, known as long COVID. Both acute SARS-CoV-2 infection and long COVID have resulted in persistent negative impacts on global public health.

Here, COVID-19 hyperimmune globulin (COVID-HIG), a passive immunotherapy, is prepared from the plasma of healthy donors vaccinated with BBIBP-CorV (Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine).

Breast cancer has the highest incidence among all cancers for women in Taiwan. The current screening policy in Taiwan provides biennial mammogram tests for all women aged 45 to 69 years. A recommendation for further investigation is sent via post to women with a BI-RADS result of 0.

The results show that positive rate of IgG antibody against receptor-binding domain of spike protein (RBD-IgG) to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in the COVID-19 convalescent plasma donors exceeded 70% for 12 months post diagnosis. The level of RBD-IgG decreases with time, with the titer stabilizing at 64.

Currently, there are no approved specific antiviral agents for novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this study, 10 severe patients confirmed by real-time viral RNA test were enrolled prospectively. One dose of 200 mL of convalescent plasma (CP) derived from recently recovered donors with the neutralizing antibody titers above 1:640 was transfused to the patients as an addition to maximal supportive care and antiviral agents.

The understanding of the meaning of teenagers coexisting with cancer must be placed in the social context with the teenagers at the core.
Objective: By using an interpretive ethnographic research method, this study applied the body perception view of Merleau-Ponty to how teenagers with cancer understand self through the body in a social and cultural context.
Parents who give birth to an unexpected preterm infant not only suffer a psychological impact, but, in addition, their roles as parent are full of uncertainty. As part of family-centered care, kangaroo care is an important way to support premature infants and their family. This review synthesizes qualitative studies on the experiences of parents who have used kangaroo care for preterm infants in neonatal intensive care units.

Cytotoxicity of photocurable composite resins is a key issue for their safe use in dental restoration. Curing kinetic and elution behaviors of the composite resin would have decisive effects on its cytotoxicity. In this study, composite resins composed of bisphenol-glycidyl dimethacrylate (Bis-GMA), triethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA), camphorquinone (CQ), N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) and barium glass powders were prepared by setting the photoinitiators CQ/DMAEMA at 0.

Taking advantage of self-polymerization of mussel-inspired dopamine, pDop-rGO was prepared through simultaneous functionalization and reduction of graphene oxide (GO) via polydopamine coating. Benefiting from the universal binding ability of polydopamine, good dispersion of pDop-rGO in epoxy matrix was able to be achieved as the content of pDop-rGO being below 0.

Background: Epilepsy affects many people worldwide, especially school-aged children, but few studies have examined children's viewpoints of their experiences with epilepsy.
Design: An exploratory, phenomenological interview design was used.
Four new cinnamylphenols, pulchelstyrenes A (1), B (2), C (3), and D (4), together with citrusinol, yukovanol, methyl piperitol, and 4-hydroxy-2,3-dimethoxybenzaldehyde were isolated from the aerial part of Phyllodium pulchellum. The structures of these compounds were determined by spectroscopic methods. Compounds 2, 3, and citrusinol exhibited marginal cytotoxicity against KB cells, and citrusinol also showed mild cytotoxicity against the HepG2 cell line.
