To create a risk model of aging-related long non-coding RNAs (arlncRNAs) and determine whether they might be useful as markers for risk stratification, prognosis prediction, and targeted therapy guidance for patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Data on aging genes and lncRNAs from LUAD patients were obtained from Human Aging Genomic Resources 3 and The Cancer Genome Atlas, and differential co-expression analysis of established differentially expressed arlncRNAs (DEarlncRNAs) was performed. Communal space is regarded as essential for human well-being in high-rise developments in Asia and increasing attention has been given to the underlying mechanism of its effects in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. From the perspective of person-place processes, this paper explores 'sense of place' and its possible mediating effects on the relationship between communal space and the mental health of residents in high-rise public housing. An analysis of data from a questionnaire survey conducted in Hong Kong and Guangzhou revealed differentiated mechanisms according to local context and age group.

Model algorithms were used in constructing the risk coefficient model of necroptosis-related long non-coding RNA in identifying novel potential biomarkers in the prediction of the sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents and prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Objective: To systematically evaluate the value of lymphocytes, platelets, and interleukin-6 in predicting the mortality of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and to provide medical evidence for the long-term prognosis of patients with COVID-19.

Methods: The latest studies published until July 1, 2021, were retrieved from databases including PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library to analyze the ability of lymphocyte and platelet counts as well as interleukin-6 levels to predict mortality in patients with COVID-19. Two reviewers independently screened the literature and extracted data, then evaluated the risk of bias of included studies using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS), and used Stata 15.

Background & Aims: Neutrophils and liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) both contribute to sterile inflammatory injury during ischemia/reperfusion (I/R), a well-known liver surgical stress. Interleukin-33 (IL-33) has been shown to drive neutrophil infiltration during inflammatory responses through its receptor ST2. Like many post-industrial cities around the world, Hong Kong has been experiencing de-industrialisation since the 1980s, and revitalisation of multi-storey industrial buildings within a high-density development context is necessary. Focussing on recent progress in revitalisation of industrial buildings in Hong Kong, this research investigates the Government regulations and market responses. It is found that simply relieving the regulations and institutional constraints in revitalisation does not work, either for the policy aim in a narrow sense or for the local economy in a broad sense.

Purpose: To evaluate our experience with the use of yttrium-90 ((90)Y) radioembolization in maintaining potential candidacy and, in some instances, downstaging hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) that does not meet Milan criteria for liver transplantation.

Cellular processes that drive sterile inflammatory injury after hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury are not completely understood. Activation of the inflammasome plays a key role in response to invading intracellular pathogens, but mounting evidence suggests that it also plays a role in inflammation driven by endogenous danger-associate molecular pattern molecules released after ischemic injury. The nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich repeat containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is one such process, and the mechanism by which its activation results in damage and inflammatory responses following liver I/R is unknown.

Objectives: This study aimed to compare survival outcomes after hepatic resection (HR) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) at a Western hepatobiliary centre.

Methods: Demographic details, clinicopathologic tumour characteristics and survival outcomes were compared among non-transplant candidate patients undergoing HR (n= 50) and RFA (n= 60) for early-stage HCC during 2001-2011.

Results: Patients who underwent HR had larger tumours, a longer length of stay and a higher rate of postoperative complications.

Aim: To identify the risk factors in predicting the outcome of acute-on-chronic hepatitis B liver failure patients.

Methods: We retrospectively divided 113 patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure-hepatitis B virus (ACLF-HBV) and without concurrent hepatitis C or D virus infection and hepatocellular carcinoma into two groups according to their outcomes after anti-HBV therapy. Their demographic, clinical, and biochemical data on the day of diagnosis and after the first week of treatment were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test, Fisher's exact test, and a multiple logistic regression analysis.

Unlabelled: Concomitant increasing incidences of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) suggest that a substantial proportion of HCC arises as a result of hepatocellular injury from NASH. The aim of this study was to determine differences in severity of liver dysfunction at HCC diagnosis and long-term survival outcomes between patients undergoing curative therapy for HCC in the background of NASH compared to hepatitis C virus (HCV) and/or alcoholic liver disease (ALD). Patient demographics and comorbidities, clinicopathologic data, and long-term outcomes among patients who underwent liver transplantation, hepatic resection, or radiofrequency ablation for HCC were reviewed.
