Body weight loss is a common complication after surgical treatment in patients with GC and is associated with poor prognosis and GC recurrence. However, current attention to postoperative weight change in GC patients remains insufficient, and the descriptions of postoperative weight change and its influencing factors are also different.

It has been shown that MPV can be used as a prognostic biomarker in certain chronic diseases. In the present study, MPV in patients with hepatitis B virus-related decompensated cirrhosis (HBV-DeCi) was investigated to evaluate whether MPV may have utility as a new predictive marker for mortality in HBV-DeCi patients.

Methods: Fifty-two AoCLF and 52 chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients were recruited.
