Introduction: Chronic postsurgical pain is recognised increasingly as a complication of caesarean delivery, with implications for a large cohort of patients. As interest in this area has grown, there has been more primary research into both the incidence and severity of pain. We aimed to synthesise all available evidence to evaluate the rate, features and severity of chronic postsurgical pain following caesarean delivery and whether it has changed over time.

Background: Optimum dose of remimazolam for inducing loss of consciousness in elderly patients has been suggested by prior studies. Opioids can enhance their sedative effects, thereby permitting dose reduction. However, the dose-response of remimazolam when combined remifentanil for attenuating stress response during laryngeal mask airway (LMA) insertion in elderly female patients is still unknown.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of handedness on motion accuracies and to compare 3D kinematic data in reaching performance of dominant and non-dominant hand with the influence of movement speed and target locations. Twelve healthy young adults used self-selected and fast speed to reach for three different target locations as follows: frontal, ipsilateral and contralateral to the performing hand, with equal distance. Both hands were tested and kinematic parameters were recorded by 3D motion analysis system.

Objective: To design and evaluate the accuracy of a novel navigation template suitable for posterior cervical screw placement surgery by using 3D printing technology to improve the existing guiding template design.

Methods: The researchers (including spine surgeons and technicians) used CT to perform thin-slice scanning on 12 cases of normal upper cervical vertebral specimens and defined the screw channels that were completely located in the pedicle without penetrating the cortex as ideal screw channels, then designed the ideal channel of the upper cervical vertebral (atlantoaxial) pedicle screw by computer software which was regarded as the preset values, and recorded the screw entrance point, transverse angle and sagittal angle of the ideal channel. Then, researchers designed the novel navigation templates for placement pedicle screw according to the ideal screw channel preset values and manufactured them with one for every single vertebra by 3D printer.

New lipophilic alendronate amidated derivatives anchored alkyl chains (C(n)H(2n+1), n = 12, 14, 16, 18) had been obtained through the reaction of alendronate with carboxylic acid under anhydrous condition. The physicochemical parameters, such as the solubility and partition coefficient P(o/w) in n-octanol/water, were determined through calculation by performing reversion phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The results showed that the derivatives had improved lipophilicity compared with alendronate.

By using a double immunofluorescence method we examined co-localization of neurokinin-3 receptor (NK-3R) and N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)/alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionate (AMPA) receptor subunits in neurons of the substantia nigra of adult mice. Overlapping distribution of NMDA receptor subunit 1 (NR1)/AMPA receptor subunits 1-4 (GluR1-4) and NK-3R-immunoreactive neurons were found in the substantia nigra pars compacta. It revealed that all (100%) of NK-3R-positive neurons displayed NR1, GluR2 or GluR3 immunoreactivity, 80% of them showed GluR1 immunoreactivity.
