Introduction: causes life-threatening respiratory disease in foals. The standard treatment typically involves a combination of rifampicin and a macrolide antibiotic. Although previous studies have demonstrated the activity of these antibiotics against , the tested concentrations often do not reflect those achievable in foals.

Current diagnosis is time-consuming and often delays effective treatment; to date, no valid biomarker has been identified to facilitate this process. Research has linked the core symptoms of ADHD to autonomic dysfunction resulting from impaired arousal modulation, which contributes to physiological abnormalities that may serve as useful biomarkers for the disorder.

Methods: A three-arm randomized controlled trial compared: iCBT focused on psychoeducation, self-monitoring and skills training (SPHERE), iCBT focused on identifying and managing personal headache triggers (PRISM) and a waitlist control. The primary treatment outcome was a ≥ 50% reduction in monthly headache days at 4 months post-randomization.
Therapeutic strategies for patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) have considerably improved during the last 10 years. The IFM2014-03 trial proposed an all-oral triplet induction/consolidation regimen in transplant-eligible NDMM patients, followed by lenalidomide maintenance. Induction consisted of three 21-day cycles of ixazomib, lenalidomide and dexamethasone (IRd), before high-dose Melphalan with transplant followed by eight 28-day cycles of IRd consolidation before 13 cycles of lenalidomide maintenance.

Objective: Our main objective was to identify and quantify the effects of radiotherapy with a computational model using optical coherence tomography (OCT) skin scanning.

Antimicrobial resistance is a critical public health issue that requires a thorough understanding of the factors that influence the selection and spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Biocides, which are widely used in cleaning and disinfection procedures in a variety of settings, may contribute to this resistance by inducing similar defense mechanisms in bacteria against both biocides and antibiotics. However, the strategies used by bacteria to adapt and develop cross-resistance remain poorly understood, particularly within biofilms -a widespread bacterial habitat that significantly influences bacterial tolerance and adaptive strategies.

With the use of the internet and communication technologies among youth and young adults, these individuals could be self-trained in CBT skills.

The inhibition of its activity by environmental contaminants remains however rather little characterised. The present study was designed to develop a combination of different approaches to identify P-gp inhibitors among a large number of pesticides using in silico and in vitro models.

Using the real-time diagrammatic technique, we determine the current, differential conductance and current cross-correlations in the nonlinear response regime. We also explore transport in different magnetic configurations of the system, which can be quantified by the tunnel magnetoresistance.

However, the mechanisms underlying P release from POM remain poorly understood because of complex fractionation and analytical challenges. In this study, the release of dissolved inorganic phosphate (DIP) during POM photodegradation was assessed using excitation-emission matrix (EEM) fluorescence spectroscopy and Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS).

Nevertheless, to date, the relationships between the 3-OH FA distribution and temperature/pH are only based on empirical studies, with no ground truthing work at the microbial level. This work investigated the influence of growth temperature and pH on the lipid composition of three strains of soil Gram-negative bacteria belonging to the phylum.

However, the molecular mechanisms allowing this survival has remained an open question for decades. While protocols for the surface sterilization of halite (NaCl) have enabled isolation of cells and DNA from within halite brine inclusions, "-omics" based approaches have faced two main technical challenges: (1) removal of all contaminating organic biomolecules (including proteins) from halite surfaces, and (2) performing selective biomolecule extractions directly from cells contained within halite brine inclusions with sufficient speed to avoid modifications in gene expression during extraction.

Methods: All patients with symptomatic IMAD referred to the ISC from January 2016 to January 2020 were included prospectively. Patients with aortic dissection and asymptomatic IMAD were not included.
Purpose: Identifying best practices for sediment fingerprinting or tracing is important to allow the quantification of sediment contributions from catchment sources. Although sediment fingerprinting has been applied with reasonable success, the deployment of this method remains associated with many issues and limitations.
Methods: Seminars and debates were organised during a 4-day Thematic School in October 2021 to come up with concrete suggestions to improve the design and implementation of tracing methods.
Objective: To report the 3-year experience of endovascular revascularization of acute arterial mesenteric ischemia (AMI) from an intestinal stroke center unit (ISCU).
Method: All data from patients admitted to the ISCU between January 2016 and January 2019 for arterial AMI who underwent endovascular recanalization were prospectively acquired and retrospectively analyzed. Patient demographics, clinical and laboratory characteristics at presentation, and CT scans were reviewed.

Several meta-analyses that examine the effectiveness of psychotherapies for patients with bipolar disorder include conclusions about the impact upon bipolar depression. However, these tend not to consider differences in depression outcome depending upon whether the therapy primarily targets acute depression, nor severity of baseline depression.

For investigating the in vitro toxicological profile of lipophilic phycotoxins on intestine, the epithelial Caco-2 cell line has been the most commonly used model. Nevertheless, considering the complexity of the intestinal epithelium, in vitro co-cultures integrating enterocyte-like and mucus-secreting cell types are expected to provide more relevant data.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLipophilic phycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by phytoplankton. They can accumulate in edible filtering-shellfish and cause human intoxications, particularly gastrointestinal symptoms. Up to now, the in vitro intestinal effects of these toxins have been mainly investigated on simple monolayers of intestinal cells such as the enterocyte-like Caco-2 cell line.

Along the estuaries, variations in environmental parameters, such as salinity and light penetration, can modify the characteristics of dissolved organic matter (DOM). Nevertheless, there is still limited information about the atomic-level transformations of DOM in this ecosystem.
