Background: More than 70% of pregnant adolescents in developing countries experience inappropriate gestational weight gain (GWG).
Objective: To determine the association of the number of antenatal care visits (ANC) with GWG, birth weight, and their differences between two countries.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted in two cohorts of adolescents, one from Mexico and one from Colombia.
Pre-pregnancy body mass index (pBMI) is a predictor of gestational weight gain (GWG). However, other factors, such as adipokines and inflammation markers, may also be associated with GWG. The aim of the study was to determine the association of leptin, adiponectin, irisin, and C-reactive protein, with GWG in adolescents.

We also discuss the different preventive measures and the effect of global warming in a large case series reported from January 2000 to December 2022.
Methods: We perform a literature review of reported cases of external ophthalmomyiasis to determine the clinical characteristics, therapeutic management, and information on the organisms that most commonly cause external ophthalmomyiasis.

Objectives: To estimate the proportion of classification disparity between the three criteria (WHO, CDC and IOM) of pre-pregnancy BMI status; and to analyze neonatal outcomes according to weight gain recommendation based on pre-pregnancy BMI using the three criteria.
