Introduction: Over the last 30 years, the adoption of health information technology and digital health tools (DHTs) into the US health system has been instrumental to improving access to care, especially for people living in rural, underserved, and underrepresented communities. Despite widespread adoption of DHTs by primary care clinicians, documented challenges have contributed to inequitable use and benefit. The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated rapid adoption of DHTs, accelerated by state and federal policy changes, in order to meet patient needs and ensure access to care.

Background: A critical aspect for most human pain research is the ability of participants to communicate their first-person, experiential perspective to a third-person observer. This communication is frequently accomplished via pain ratings. The scale type can influence the communication of pain experiences and can contribute to gender differences in pain.

Video versus Direct Laryngoscopy for Tracheal Intubation of Critically Ill Adults.

Background: Whether video laryngoscopy as compared with direct laryngoscopy increases the likelihood of successful tracheal intubation on the first attempt among critically ill adults is uncertain.

Methods: In a multicenter, randomized trial conducted at 17 emergency departments and intensive care units (ICUs), we randomly assigned critically ill adults undergoing tracheal intubation to the video-laryngoscope group or the direct-laryngoscope group. The primary outcome was successful intubation on the first attempt.

What follow-up interventions, programmes and pathways exist for minor stroke survivors after discharge from the acute setting? A scoping review.

Objective: To identify the breadth and range of follow-up interventions currently provided to people after minor stroke with a focus on the definitions used for minor stroke, intervention components, intervention theory and outcomes used. These findings will inform the development and feasibility testing of a pathway of care.

Describing community pharmacists' SRH services in countries with different scopes of practice will aid in understanding how pharmacists view their roles and how to support them in providing needed services. A cross-sectional web-based survey was administered to pharmacists working in community pharmacies in Japan, Thailand, and Canada.

Background: Intracortical microstimulation (ICMS) is an emerging approach to restore sensation to people with neurological injury or disease. Biomimetic microstimulation, or stimulus trains that mimic neural activity in the brain through encoding of onset and offset transients, could improve the utility of ICMS for brain-computer interface (BCI) applications, but how biomimetic microstimulation affects neural activation is not understood. Current "biomimetic" ICMS trains aim to reproduce the strong onset and offset transients evoked in the brain by sensory input through dynamic modulation of stimulus parameters.

Many studies have demonstrated the usefulness of virtual characters in educational settings; however, widespread adoption of such tools is limited by development costs and accessibility. This article describes a novel platform, web automated virtual environment (WAVE), to deliver virtual experiences through the web. The system integrates data acquired from a variety of sources in a manner that allows the virtual characters to exhibit behaviors that are appropriate to the designer's goals, such as providing support for users based on understanding their activities and their emotional states.

Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia: Evaluation and Treatment.

Neonatal jaundice due to hyperbilirubinemia is common, and most cases are benign. The irreversible outcome of brain damage from kernicterus is rare (1 out of 100,000 infants) in high-income countries such as the United States, and there is increasing evidence that kernicterus occurs at much higher bilirubin levels than previously thought. However, newborns who are premature or have hemolytic diseases are at higher risk of kernicterus.

Characterization of a Musculoskeletal Syndrome of Enthesitis and Arthritis in Patients With Atopic Dermatitis Treated With Dupilumab, an Interleukin-4/13 Inhibitor.

Objective: To characterize the presentation and outcomes of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) who developed musculoskeletal symptoms after treatment with dupilumab, a human IgG4 monoclonal antibody that blocks the functions of interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IL-13, key pathologic pathways in AD.

Methods: This article reports an observational cohort of patients receiving dupilumab who developed new-onset musculoskeletal symptoms after dupilumab therapy at our center. All patients had a comprehensive rheumatologic history and examination, with imaging by ultrasonography (US) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in most patients.

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively analysed patients with a clinical diagnosis of RP. Patients were investigated using pulmonary function tests, dynamic high-resolution CT scans, bronchoscopy, laryngoscopy and/or PET-CT scans along with autoimmune serology.

Congenital nasal anomalies are rare, with an estimated incidence of 1/20,000 to 40,000 live births. Hyperplasia and duplication anomalies are the most uncommon, comprising about 1% of reported cases.
