Comprehensive multiresidue chromatographic methods for monitoring pesticides in agricultural areas and corresponding plant protection zones.

This article reports a comprehensive analytical method for the identification and quantification of a broad range of pesticides in green plant crops. The sample preparation method for pesticides involved an optimization of the QuEChERS-based extraction protocol, with sample mass, volume of added water, and the type of cleanup sorbent as variables. A sorbent combination based on ENVI-Carb and ChloroFiltr was examined.

Immunophenotypes of anti-SARS-CoV-2 responses associated with fatal COVID-19.

Background: The relationship between anti-SARS-CoV-2 humoral immune response, pathogenic inflammation, lymphocytes and fatal COVID-19 is poorly understood.

Methods: A longitudinal prospective cohort of hospitalised patients with COVID-19 (n=254) was followed up to 35 days after admission (median, 8 days). We measured early anti-SARS-CoV-2 S1 antibody IgG levels and dynamic (698 samples) of quantitative circulating T-, B- and natural killer lymphocyte subsets and serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) response.

Outbreak of Human Metapneumovirus Infection in Zoo, Slovenia.

We report a case of human metapneumovirus infection that spread from humans to chimpanzees and back to humans. Bronchopneumonia developed in 4 of 6 members of a chimpanzee family, and 2 subsequently died. The chimpanzees' keeper also became ill.

Ultra-Fast Molecular Rotors within Porous Organic Cages.

Using variable temperature H static NMR spectra and C spin-lattice relaxation times (T ), we show that two different porous organic cages with tubular architectures are ultra-fast molecular rotors. The central para-phenylene rings that frame the "windows" to the cage voids display very rapid rotational rates of the order of 1.2-8×10  Hz at 230 K with low activation energy barriers in the 12-18 kJ mol range.

Objective: Our aim was to evaluate risk factors for SRs during the build-up phase of honeybee venom immunotherapy.

Omalizumab in chronic urticaria: our experience and literature review.

Introduction: Chronic urticaria (CU) severely affects quality of life. If symptoms are not controlled by antihistamines, patients need immunomodulatory drugs. Recent studies show a tremendous effect of omalizumab, a monoclonal antibody against human IgE in refractory CU.

Background: The effects of pollen immunotherapy on effector cells of allergic inflammation, such as mast cells and basophils, are poorly understood.

Objective: For this reason, we conducted an open study on basophil allergen threshold sensitivity during birch pollen immunotherapy.

Methods: Basophil sensitivity was measured by CD63 flow cytometry in 14 patients with moderate-severe intermittent birch pollen rhinitis using four log allergen concentrations.
