Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) assistance on glycemic control in children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in earthquake-affected regions, comparing those who benefited from CGM with those who did not. Additionally, the study assessed changes in CGM metrics over nine months of CGM use.
Methods: A multicenter, cross-sectional study was conducted across 11 centers in Türkiye.
Background: Ultrasonography (USG), which is used as the first step in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis (AA), sometimes cannot visualize the appendix. The aim of this study was to retrospectively analyze the clinical, imaging, and pathology results of these cases and to provide information to clinicians about the next step to be taken.
Methods: The study was performed retrospectively between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.
Background: To minimize adverse events of peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) collection in healthy donors, it is reasonable to limit the total dose of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and/or the number of apheresis days without decreasing of PBSCs yield. Therefore, we have started to collect G-CSF induced PBSCs on day 4 instead of on day 5. So, we retrospectively aimed to investigate the results of this 4-day G-CSF administration.

It is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Although right heart catheterization (RHC) is the gold standard for diagnosis, noninvasive methods, such as echocardiography, are essential for early detection and management.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is notably more prevalent in male psoriasis patients, likely driven by both systemic inflammation and psychological stress. Adalimumab (ADA), a tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) inhibitor, has been shown to effectively reduce psoriasis severity, but its effects on sexual and reproductive health remain underexplored.

The inefficiency caused by patients' no-shows and the resulting increased operating costs negatively affect the hospitals' financial structure and service quality. For this reason, health managers must make accurate predictions about whether patients will attend an appointment and plan the appointment system within the framework of these predictions.

Materials And Methods: Data from 53 patients who were diagnosed with pPCL between 2011 and 2020 and who used at least one proteasome inhibitor (PI) and/or immunomodulatory (IMID) agent were analyzed retrospectively. Depending on the year of the pPCL diagnosis, 20% leukocytes or ≥2x10/L plasma cells in the peripheral blood was used as a diagnostic criterion.
Background: This study aimed to elucidate the diagnostic significance of changes in periappendiceal fat density observed on computed tomography (CT) in patients with acute appendicitis (AA).
Methods: Patients who underwent surgery with a diagnosis of AA based on CT findings from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 were included in the study. Patients were divided into three grades.
Background And Hypothesis: Abnormalities in the retina are observed in psychotic disorders, especially in schizophrenia.
Study Design: Using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography, we investigated structural retinal changes in relatively metabolic risk-free youth with clinical high-risk (CHR, n = 34) and first-episode psychosis (FEP, n = 30) compared with healthy controls (HCs, n = 28).
Study Results: Total retinal macular thickness/volume of the right eye increased in FEP (effect sizes, Cohen's d = 0.
Background: Spatial orientation is an executive function which includes vital activities and auditory organization according to daily bodily movements, directionality, and environmental information. It is directly linked to the vision and hearing and used throughout life, building complex relationships with these systems, based on learning.
Purpose: Our purpose in our study is to try to see the effects of noise and reverberation on the users by comparing the localization and auditory performances of the cochlear implant (CI) user individuals in a silent, noisy environment and reverberation.
Background Objectives: Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a zoonotic disease and significant health concern particularly in endemic regions. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy in dexamethasone treatment on clinical outcomes in CCHF patients.
Methods: We included adult patients diagnosed with CCHF and those whose platelet count dropped to 70,000/mm3 or lower.
Objective: To evaluate the etiology-specific diagnosis of early-onset developmental epileptic encephalopathies (EO-DEEs) in a nationwide Turkish cohort to determine the implications for therapeutic management.
Methods: The cohort comprised 1450 patients who underwent EO-DEE. The utility of genetic testing was assessed with respect to the initial phases of next generation sequencing (NGS) (2005-2013) and the current NGS era (2014-2022).

In this study, we developed a modified NRA (MONRA) to determine the first and second-line drug susceptibilities of 5 reference ATCC strains and 42 clinical M. tuberculosis isolates. Unlike conventional NRA, which is often performed in solid media or 7H9 broth, the MONRA is performed in a different medium, AYC.

Several studies have shown that AGs have a cumulative effect on ototoxicity. We aimed to investigate the relationship between AG exposure and ototoxicity by using 3 different methods in patients with CF.

Methods: A total of 158 eyes were included in the study, comprising 58 eyes of 29 patients with POAG, 50 eyes of 25 patients with PEXG, and 50 eyes of 25 healthy individuals. The lamina cribrosa thickness (LCT) (at three locations), lamina cribrosa depth (LCD), RNFL thickness, and the macular thickness were measured using the EDI mode of the SD-OCT.

Polymyalgia rheumatica associated amyloidosis is an extremely rare condition that can be rapidly progressive with high morbidity and mortality and management is challenging. Tocilizumab is a monoclonal anti IL-6 receptor antibody which is in the therapeutic arsenal of polymyalgia rheumatica. The efficiency of tocilizumab in improvement of polymyalgia rheumatica activity score and decreasing steroid dose is well established, while efficiency in polymyalgia rheumatica associated amyloidosis has not been published.

The ongoing second quantum revolution, marked by advancements harnessing quantum phenomena, has permeated various fields, including communications, computation, and networking, collectively known as quantum technologies (QTs). Quantum computing, a focal point within QT, has led to the emergence of quantum games, a novel research and development area exploring creative applications of quantum computing in game development. While more than 300 quantum games have been developed by enthusiasts and commercial parties, a comprehensive research program or state-of-the-art review is notably absent.
