G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling is terminated by arrestin binding to a phosphorylated receptor. Binding propensity has been shown to be modulated by stabilizing the pre-activated state of arrestin through point mutations or C-tail truncation. Here, we hypothesize that pre-activated rotated states can be stabilized by small molecules, and this can promote binding to phosphorylation-deficient receptors, which underly a variety of human disorders.

Background: Some studies conducted within the scope of the DOHaD hypothesis show associations between early-life environmental factors, especially maternal health and nutritional status, with the next generation's health and disease status. Despite the increase in elucidating of the underpinning mechanisms of early life determinants and chronic disease risk, there is limited knowledge on how public perceive and understand DOHaD concepts.
Objective: Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) is a chronic disease that is common in childhood and adolescence, where care and metabolic control are difficult for both adolescents and their parents. Parental participation in the care and treatment process, especially during adolescence when adolescents develop autonomy and take responsibility for self-care, affects both the adolescent's perception of autonomy and may cause difficulties in self-management. This study was conducted to determine the effect of parental support on adolescents' self-efficacy, quality of life (QoL) and glycaemic control in adolescents with T1D.

This study aims to explore the relationship between patient and clinical characteristics and splenic flexure mobilization time as well as the implications of prolonged splenic flexure mobilization duration.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study includes 105 patients who underwent laparoscopic distal colorectal cancer surgery between 2013 and 2018.
Aims: This study aims to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Community Balance and Mobility Scale (CB&M) in people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS).
Methods: A total of 65 PwMS (Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) ≤ 5.5) were included in the study.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the utility of minimally invasive sinus laser therapy (SiLaT) versus flap surgery (Karydakis flap procedure) in terms of intraoperative parameters and postoperative outcome in patients with pilonidal sinus disease (PSD).
Methods: A total of 106 patients with PSD (mean ± SD age: 26.4 ± 7.
The ketogenic diet (KD) originated in the 1920s. It is a dietary model that is low in carbohydrates, adequate in protein, and high in fat content. The diet mimics starvation and increases the production of ketone bodies, leading to ketosis in metabolism.

Objectives: By focusing on integron-mediated mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, we sought to elucidate the genetic determinants underpinning the development of multidrug resistance in clinical isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii.
Legume-rhizobium symbiosis provides a sustainable nitrogen source for agriculture. Nitrogen fixation efficiency depends on both legume and rhizobium genotypes, but the implications of their interactions for plant performance in environments with many competing rhizobium strains remain unclear. Here, we let 399 Rhizobium leguminosarum complex sv.

Our study retrospectively examines the number of granulocytes in the products of donors who donated granulocytes between January 2016 and September 2020 at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Blood Bank. The effects of acid-citrate-dextrose (ACD), trisodium citrate + hydroxyethyl starch (TCC + HES) and ACD + HES combinations used in the apheresis procedure on the granulocyte count of apheresis products were examined. As a result of study, it was seen that the type of anticoagulant combination used during apheresis significantly affected the number of granulocytes collected.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of total coronary revascularization via left anterior thoracotomy (TCRAT) by comparing it to conventional coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) with median sternotomy.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 108 patients (95 males, 13 females; mean age: 57.1±8.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the causes of failure after the ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) procedure for ulcerative colitis (UC) and to determine the independent risk factors affecting their quality of life.
Methods: This multi-center cohort study included all UC patients who underwent IPAA at nine referral centers in Türkiye from 2010 to 2018. Centers were categorized as high-volume (≥10 cases/year) or low-volume (<10 cases/year).
Background: Liver retraction management in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is challenging for surgeons, especially in patients with enlarged livers. Traditional methods, such as the Nathanson retractor (NR), often necessitate additional incisions, potentially increasing liver enzymes and increasing the risk of complications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the use of a Veress needle (VN), an alternative liver retraction technique, in LSG surgery compared with NR.

Unroofing curettage (UC), which provides faster recovery, better cosmetic appearance, and lower recurrence rates in the primary cases, was evaluated with the results of recurrent disease.
Methods: This retrospective study included 74 patients with recurrent disease who were over 16 years of age, experienced recurrence after at least one surgical attempt, and underwent unroofing curettage between 2007 and 2019.
Objective: Tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitors are frequently used in the treatment of axial spondyloarthritis. While tumor necrosis factor alpha is associated with some malignancies, studies on its effects on thyroid functions and thyroid nodules are limited. This study aimed to assess the effect of tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitors treatments on the evaluation of thyroid nodules and thyroid function tests in axial spondyloarthritis patients.

Lauric acid (LA), the major fatty acid in coconut oil, and resveratrol, the plant-based polyphenolic compound, may exert anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, this study investigated the possible effects of LA and resveratrol on diet-induced neuroinflammation and CD36.

Interoception accuracy (IAc) refers to the ability to perceive internal bodily states such as hunger and thirst. Since the brain and skin originate from the same embryological layer, the ectoderm, it is hypothesized that skin changes and disorders might affect individual perceptions.

Methods: This cross-sectional, observational, and prospective study was completed with 64 patients. Before SA, PVI IVC-D, and IVC-A were measured.
Intravascular shrapnel or bullet embolization after a gunshot injury is rare, with fewer than 200 cases reported over the past century. Military injuries typically have high energy transfer, making this phenomenon less prevalent. A 22-year-old military personnel presented with chronic leg ischemia resulting from arterial bullet embolization.
