The ascomycete is a cosmopolitan and ecologically significant ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungus that forms symbiotic associations with diverse host plants worldwide. As the only known ECM species within the large class Dothideomycetes, exhibits several characteristics that distinguish it from other ECM fungi. This fungus significantly contributes to ecosystem stability and development as an early colonizer of primary forest succession.

We explore an easy method for preparation of a hybrid device of a photonic crystal InGaN/GaN quantum well (QW) and colloidal quantum dots using conventional photolithography. It is demonstrated from electroluminescence spectra that Förster resonance energy transfer takes place efficiently between the photonic crystal InGaN/GaN QW and CdSe/ZnS colloidal quantum dots. From the photoluminescence decay of the InGaN/GaN QW, the largest Förster resonance energy transfer efficiency between the photonic crystal GaN quantum well and colloidal quantum dots is measured as 88% and the corresponding Förster-resonance-energy-transfer fraction reached 42%.

The purpose is to observe the clinical effect of large doses of ambroxol hydrochloride in lung protection during the perioperative period of lung cancer operation. Fifty-six lung cancer patients who have undergone open-thoracic pulmonary lobectomy were divided randomly into two groups, and were given normal and large doses of ambroxol hydrochloride, respectively, during their perioperative period. Statistics based on post-operation clinical observations were analyzed in terms of ease of expectoration and expectoration properties, duration of antibiotics dependence, occurrence of lung complications, and adverse reactions related to ambroxol hydrochloride.

The objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of olanzapine combined with ondansetron or ondansetron alone in preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A total of 84 NSCLC patients were equally randomized into intervention group and control group. Both groups were intravenously administered with ondansetron 8 mg 30 min before chemotherapy.

We determined the feasibility and clinical efficacy of simultaneous bilateral video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for treating primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP). We performed a retrospective analysis of the efficacy of simultaneous bilateral resection of pulmonary bullae using VATS in 21 PSP patients that were treated at our hospital from February 2010 to August 2013. We found bilateral bullae in all patients through the intraoperative exploration.

Objective: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are an attractive source for providing the cells necessary for regenerating damaged tissues. Fetal MSCs (fMSCs) are known to proliferate fast and have an excellent osteogenic capacity, yet the underlying mechanisms need to be explored. A better understanding of MSCs from different anatomic origins and ages will eventually benefit cell-based therapies, as well as subsequent mechanistic studies in the field of stem cell biology.

Objective: To explore the serological infection rate of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in general population aged over one year old in Beijing and to provide information for control and prevention of the disease.

Methods: A multistage randomized cluster sampling was carried out in general population of Beijing, aged over one year old. Every study subject's hepatitis B immunization history and main risk factors were investigated through questionnaire.

Following the requirements of the "National survey on the current status of the major human parasitic diseases", the investigation was conducted in June-October 2002 in 5 districts (counties) of Beijing with a sample of 7912 people. The overall prevalence rate of intestinal parasites was 2.9%, significantly lower than the result from the first survey in 1988-1989 (34.
