The role of overnight pulse oximetry in risk stratification of paediatric sleep disordered breathing in a district general hospital.

Objectives: Adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy are common surgical interventions in paediatric patients with sleep disordered breathing. Post operative respiratory complications are a recognised risk, and pre-operative risk stratification of patients is important to enable safe delivery of peri-operative care. Due to easy accessibility, overnight pulse oximetry is commonly used for this purpose.

Atypical Carcinoid Neuroendocrine Tumor of the Ureter: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) of the ureter are rare, with less than 40 cases described in the literature. A majority of tumors described are poorly differentiated tumors with a poor prognosis. We present the case of a moderately differentiated atypical carcinoid NET of the ureter with a good postoperative outcome.
