Comparison of coronally advanced and semilunar coronally repositioned flap for the treatment of gingival recession.

Background: Gingival Recession (GR) occurs in population with low oral hygiene levels. Root coverage may be achieved by a number of surgical techniques, including pedicle gingival grafts, free grafts, connective tissue grafts, gtr may also be used. The objective of the present study is to compare the clinical outcomes of the Semilunar Coronally Repositioned Flap (SCRF) and Coronally Advanced Flap (CAF) procedure in the treatment of miller's class I gingival recession defects in maxillary teeth.

Pseudo-dementia: A neuropsychological review.

Ever since Kiloh (1961)[2] coined the term pseudo-dementia, it has been used a little loosely for describing the cognitive deficits in depression, especially, which is found in old age. Background: Periodontitis is a multifactorial inflammatory disease which leads to alveolar bone loss, followed by exposure of root surfaces, which results in an unaesthetic appearance. Palatal masticatory mucosa is widely used as a donor tissue for root coverage procedures, to achieve an aesthetic appearance and to meet patient's needs. Obtaining sufficient volume of tissue without injuring the vessels is necessary.

Eosinophilic cystitis mimicking bladder tumour - a rare case report.

A 16-year-old male presented with urinary urgency, a frequency of 4 months duration and intermittent gross haematuria which were there since one month. Introduction: Since Glycated Albumin (GA) reflects short term variations and glycated protein shows degrees of hyperglycaemia, the objective of this study was to find GA and microalbuminuria as a early risk markers along with the duration of Uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus in type 2 diabetic nephropathy.

Synthesis and biological activity of new resveratrol derivative and molecular docking: dynamics studies on NFkB.

Introduction: Successful non-perforating trabeculectomy (NPT) results in filtration of aqueous humor out of the anterior chamber and into a filtration bleb, without surgical excision of tissue from the anterior chamber angle, and without penetration into the anterior chamber. The complications of perforating trabeculectomy, due to early postoperative hypotony (shallow anterior chamber, hyphema, macular folds, suprachoroidal effusion, and ciliochoroidal hemorrhage) (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) are regarded by many surgeons as significant risks. Nonperforating surgery has been reported to reduce the incidence of early hypotony-related complications (10), because it has the advantage of creating gradual filtration of aqueous humor, through a thin trabeculodescemetic membrane (TDM), which markedly reduces postoperative complications seen after a conventional trabeculectomy (11), and also has been reported to provide better long-term intraocular pressure (IOP) control (12, 13).
