The presence of island grains in the initial finished sheets of grain-oriented electrical steel is inevitable in the preparation of ultra-thin strips. Owing to their distinctive shape and size effects, their deformation behavior during rolling differs from that of grain-oriented electrical steels of conventional thickness. This study focuses on the orientation evolution and deformation heterogeneity of island grains during rolling.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) are two predominant histological types of nonmelanoma skin cancer (NMSC), lacking effective early diagnostic markers. In this study, we assessed the diagnostic value of autoantibodies against p53, MMP-7, and Hsp70 in skin SCC and BCC. ELISA was performed to detect levels of autoantibodies in sera from 101 NMSC patients and 102 normal controls, who were recruited from the Cancer Hospital of Shantou University Medical College.

As a preliminary but important step in the investigation of the function of the new androgen-dependent DNA binding cytosol protein (C(3)P(4)) discovered by using gel retardation assay with a 31 bp fragment of DNA of the promoter of the rat ventral prostatic binding protein (PSBP) C(3) gene as a probe, a general survey was carried out on the tissue distribution of this protein in rat mice, rabbit and monkey of both sexes and also in some human pathological tissues with the following findings: (1) C(3)P(4) is present in all the male sex organs in different amount, but none in female sex organs. (2) C(3)P(4) has been found in the brain of all the species studied. (3) Its occurrence in other tissues are rare and show species variation, but no sex difference.
