Photodamage is one of the most common causes of skin injury. High molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HHA) has shown immense potential in the treatment of skin photodamage by virtue of its anti-inflammatory, reparative, and antioxidative properties. However, due to its large molecular structure of HHA, HHA solution could only form a protective film on the skin surface in conventional application, failing to effectively penetrate the skin, which necessitates the development of new delivery strategies.
