The aim of this study is to compare the feasibility and efficacy of two-port (single incision plus one port) laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal repair (TEP) with single-port TEP for the treatment of inguinal hernia. We performed a retrospective comparative study from a prospectively maintained database. A cohort of 229 patients with inguinal hernia who underwent TEP were included.

Identification of prognostic biomarkers of breast cancer based on the immune-related gene module.

Breast cancer (BC) is highly malignant and its mortality rate remains high. The development of immunotherapy has gradually improved the prognosis and survival rate of patients. Therefore, identifying molecular markers concerned with BC immunity is of great importance for the treatment of this disease.

Single-port endoscopy-assisted thyroidectomy via cervical gas-insufflation approach for papillary thyroid carcinoma: A pilot retrospective comparative study.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the safety and efficacy of our novel technique of single-port endoscopy-assisted thyroidectomy via cervical gas-insufflation approach (SPEAT, also called the Huang procedure) in the treatment of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).

Materials And Methods: We perform a retrospective comparative study from a prospectively maintained database. A cohort of 82 patients with PTC who underwent total thyroidectomy and central neck dissection were included.

Minimal transcervical access single-port endoscopy-assisted thyroidectomy: a retrospective comparative study.

Introduction: Conventional open thyroidectomy (COT) has been the most common approach for thyroidectomy, with a long incision in the neck, a portion of the body prominently exposed. As the morbidity of thyroid surgery has decreased to become minimal, cosmetic outcomes have emerged as increasingly important, motivating surgeons to develop alternative approaches.

Objective: To summarize the application of protective terminal ileostomy in laparoscopic total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer patients, and explore the risk factors associated with postoperative complications and timing of stoma closure.

Methods: Clinical data of 77 patients with middle or low rectal cancer undergoing laparoscopic total mesorectal excision (TME) with preventive terminal ileostomy in our department from January 2007 to December 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Independent risk factors associated to postoperative complications of terminal ileostomy were examined by logistic regression and timing of stoma closure was investigated.

We did this meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of different ADCs predicting different responses to CRT in patients with LARC.We systematically searched the MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases for articles published from January 1, 1990, to June 3, 2014.
