Article Synopsis
  • - Toripalimab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting PD-1, showing potential as a treatment for advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma, but it can cause immune-related adverse events (irAEs) like colitis in some patients.
  • - A case study presented a patient with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma who developed colitis as an irAE after Toripalimab treatment, but achieved complete remission while also showing a related cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in colon biopsies.

Background: FOXO3a, a member of the forkhead class 'O' (FOXO) transcription factor family, controls a wide spectrum of biological processes, such as DNA damage repair, apoptosis, and cell cycle regulation. FOXO3a has been shown to be a tumor suppressor in various cancers. This study investigated the expression of FOXO3a in primary gastric adenocarcinomas and its prognostic value for primary gastric adenocarcinoma patients.
