Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that threatens the life and health of women worldwide. As the first-line chemotherapy drug for breast cancer, doxorubicin (DOX) can inhibit the synthesis of RNA and DNA, and it exhibits strong inhibitory activity against breast cancer. However, drug-induced systemic toxicity and drug resistance can occur with DOX treatment.

Emerging evidence recognizes aberrant glycosylation as the malignant characteristics of cancer cells, but little is known about glycogenes' roles in endometrial carcinoma (EC), especially the most aggressive subtype carrying TP53 mutations. Using unsupervised hierarchical clustering, an 11-glycogene cluster is identified to distinguish an EC subtype associated with frequent TP53 mutation and worse prognosis. Among them, MGAT4A (alpha-1,3-mannosyl-glycoprotein 4-β-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase A) emerges as the most consistently overexpressed glycogene, contributing to EC aggressiveness.

We report here the identification of a dsRNA virus, obtained from strain Newher-7, tentatively named partitivirus 3 (FsPV3). It consists of four dsRNA segments (dsRNA1-4) with lengths of 1961, 1900, 1830 and 1830 bp, respectively. Sequence analysis showed that dsRNA1 encodes an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp), dsRNA2 encodes a capsid protein (CP), dsRNA3 encodes a hypothetical protein of unknown function and dsRNA4 encodes two hypothetical proteins of unknown function.

The critical-sized bone defect resulting from trauma, tumor resection, and congenital deformity fails to undergo spontaneous healing due to its substantial size, while the ensuing inflammatory process and hypoxic environment further impede the regenerative process. Therefore, it has consistently presented a significant clinical challenge. In the present study, we incorporate a glycyrrhizic acid (GA)-functionalized hydrogel onto the surface of a Hydroxyapatite (Hap)-modified Polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffold to fabricate a composite scaffold.

Background: Serum hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) < 100 IU/mL has been recently proposed as one of the key criteria of 'partial cure' in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. We analysed the clinical prognosis of hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-negative untreated patients with HBsAg < 100 IU/mL and normal alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels.

Methods: Five hundred and twenty-one untreated patients with HBeAg negativity, HBsAg < 100 IU/mL and normal ALT levels were included from three hospitals.

Hemorrhagic disease caused by grass carp reovirus (GCRV) infection is a major problem affecting the grass carp aquaculture industry. Therefore, inhibiting the spread of GCRV infection is of great economic significance. Herein, we sequenced five tissues (gill, liver, intestine, kidney, and muscle) from grass carp before and after GCRV infection using data-independent acquisition proteomic and untargeted metabolomic technologies, and quantitatively identified 10,808 proteins and 4040 metabolites.

Calcareous sand has been widely used as a construction material for offshore projects; however, the problem of foundation settlement caused by particle crushing cannot be ignored. Although many methods for reinforcing calcareous sands have been proposed, they are difficult to apply on-site. In this study, a permeable polyurethane polymer adhesive (PPA) was used to reinforce calcareous sands, and its mechanical properties after reinforcement were investigated through compression creep, direct shear, and triaxial shear tests.

  • * Researchers characterized 38 common chromophores in Xi'an aerosols, revealing their contributions to BrC light absorption ranged from 1.6% to 5.8% at 365 nm.
  • * A machine learning model using Shapley Additive Explanation (SHAP) method achieved high accuracy in predicting BrC's absorption coefficient, identifying that certain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) significantly influence light absorption, thus enhancing understanding of BrC's optical characteristics.

TDCS is one of the most widely used non-invasive neuromodulation techniques, which changes the excitability of local cortical tissue by applying weak continuous direct current to the scalp, effectively improves the attention and concentration of ADHD children, and improves the impulse disorder of patients, but related research is still in its infancy. Based on a review of a large number of existing literatures and an analysis of the pathogenesis and principle of ADHD, this paper summarized the research on tDCS in the treatment of ADHD in recent years from the aspects of treatment mechanism, safety and stimulation parameters, and simply compared the application of tDCS with other non-traumatic neuromodulation techniques in the treatment of ADHD. The future development direction of this technology is further discussed.

Pregnane X receptor (PXR) is a xenobiotic-sensing nuclear receptor with a well-established role in regulating drug metabolism and clearance. Recent studies have shown that PXR is involved in cell proliferation, apoptosis, immune response, and energy homeostasis. It is important to identify compounds that may modulate PXR activity to prevent drug-drug interactions, distinguish chemicals which could potentially generate toxicity, and identify compounds for further development towards therapeutic usage.

Objective: In this study, we retrospectively analyzed the imaging characteristics of dual-tracer Ga-prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) and F-flurodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa) patients. We analyzed the uptake modes of the dual tracers, explored clinical pathological parameters affecting the F-FDG uptake in the lesions, and evaluated their prognostic implications for prostate specific antigen progression-free survival (PSA-PFS).

Methods: A total of 41 mPCa patients who underwent dual-tracer PET/CT (Ga-PSMA and F-FDG) scans between September 2021 and January 2024 were retrospectively enrolled.

Flaviviruses strategically utilize the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in their replication cycles. However, the role of ER autophagy (ER-phagy) in viral replication process remains poorly understood. Here, we reveal that prolonged Zika virus (ZIKV) infection results from the degradation of ER-phagy receptor FAM134B, facilitated by viral NS2A protein.

The hydroboration of alkynes into vinylboronate esters is a vital transformation, but achieving high chemoselectivity of targeted functional groups and an appreciable turnover number is a considerable challenge. Herein, we develop two dynamically regulating dual-catalytic-site copper clusters (CuNC and CuNC) bearing N-heterocyclic thione ligands that endow CuNC and CuNC catalysts with performance. In particular, the performance of microcrystalline CuNC in hydroboration is characterized by a high turnover number (77786), a high chemoselectivity, high recovery and reusability under mild conditions.

, an ancient plant species endemic to Yunnan Province, China, remains underexplored in terms of its endophytic bacterial communities. The plant tissue pedicel serves as the connection between the flower and the stem, not only delivers nutrients but also transmits metabolic substances from endophytic bacteria to the nectar during long-term microbial colonization and probably improves the antagonistic activity of nectar against yeast. Hence, 138 isolates of endophytic bacteria have been isolated in this study from the pedicels of 12- and 60-year-old .
