Background: The incidence of knee osteoarthritis after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is high to 57%, and the biomechanical abnormality during walking is one of the reasons. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 12 weeks of knee extension constraint training on walking biomechanics during the stance phase of injured side after ACLR.

Methods: Forty-five patients were randomly assigned to three groups based on different brace conditions from 13 weeks to 24 weeks after ACLR: experimental (brace with knee extension constraint), placebo (brace without knee extension constraint), and control (no brace).

The impact of acupuncture on knee function and pain intensity following knee replacement remains controversial. Therefore, we categorized the postsurgery recovery period into 3 phases: short-term (≤2 weeks), intermediate-term (2 weeks-3 months), and long-term (>3 months), and then assessed the effectiveness of acupuncture in improving function and alleviating pain at different stages following knee replacement. Different bone bruise patterns observed using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) after non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture and lateral patellar dislocation may indicate different knee injury mechanisms. In this study, 77 ACL ruptures and 77 patellar dislocations in knee MR images taken from patients with bone bruises at our institution between August 2020 and March 2022 were selected and analyzed. In order to determine typical bone bruising patterns following by ACL rupture and patellar dislocation, sagittal- and transverse-plane images were used to determine bone bruise locations in the directions of medial-lateral and superior-inferior with MR images.
