Objectives: Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable hematological malignancy, Dual-specificity phosphatase-1 (DUSP1) plays a crucial role in the initiation and progression of various tumors. Here, we aim to elucidate the role of DUSP1 in MM.
Methods: DUSP1 mRNA expression was analyzed based on public datasets, and protein expression was determined by immunohistochemistry.
Background: Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTCL) is almost always fatal after the failure of asparaginase. This phase II study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of tislelizumab combined with gemcitabine and oxaliplatin (Tisle-GemOx) in patients with ENKTCL failing asparaginase.
Methods: Eligible patients received Tisle-GemOx as initial induction for 6-8 cycles at 21-day intervals.
Background: The pivotal role of antibody-producing B cells in controlling hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is well-established. However, the antiviral role of B cells extends beyond antibody production, which has been insufficiently studied for HBV infection.
Methods: Using an HBV hydrodynamic injection (HDI) mouse model with B cell depletion or functional blockade, we detected HBV infection markers and assessed T cell function through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, RT-PCR and flow cytometry.
Objectives: To assess vestibular function, video head impulse test (vHIT) is taken as the gold standard by evaluating the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR). However, vHIT requires the patient to wear a specialized head-mounted goggle equipment that needs to be calibrated before each use. For this, we proposed an intelligent head impulse test (iHIT) setting with a monocular infrared camera instead of the head-mounted goggle and contributed correspondingly a video classification approach with deep learning to vestibular function determination.

The burgeoning emergence of drug-resistant strains poses a significant challenge to the clinical success of eradication therapies and is primarily attributed to mutations within drug-targeting genes that lead to antibiotic resistance. This study investigated the effect of high salt conditions on the occurrence of drug-resistance mutations in . We found that high salt condition significantly amplifies the frequency of drug resistance mutations in .

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell activities in EMD have yet to be determined; how EMD-specific microenvironment influences the clinical outcomes of CAR T-cell therapy remains of great interest. In this prospective cohort study, patients with histologically confirmed extra-osseous EMD were enrolled and treated with combined anti-BCMA and anti-CD19 CAR T-cell therapy from May 2017 to September 2023.

Objective: To investigate the relative expression level and clinical significance of in serum of patients with multiple myeloma (MM).
Methods: The expression of in serum of 108 MM patients and five MM cell lines including RPMI 8226, NCI-H929, U266, OPM2 and CAG were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. The diagnostic value of in MM was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis.

To investigate the predictive value of temporal bone high-resolution CT(HRCT) multiplanar reconstruction(MPR) for cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) gusher during cochlear implantation in patients with inner ear malformation. The clinical data of 33 patients(36 ears) with inner ear malformation who underwent cochlear implantation were retrospectively analyzed. The predictive value of HRCT for cerebrospinal fluid gusher during cochlear implantation was evaluated.

Here, we design bispecific BC19 CAR T cells targeting BCMA/CD19 and evaluate antimyeloma activity in vitro and in vivo. Preclinical results indicate that BC19 CAR specifically recognize target antigens, and BC19 CAR T cells mediate selective killing of BCMA or CD19-positive cancer cells.

As a complex structure connecting the middle ear to the nasopharynx, the eustachian tube (ET) is important in the onset of ear-nose-throat diseases. However, PCP signaling, including the orientation that is important for ciliary motility and clearance function in the ET, has not been studied.

In early lung cancers, the invasiveness is an important factor for expected survival rates. Hence, how to effectively identify the invasiveness by computed tomography (CT) images became a hot topic in the field of biomedical science.

The objective of our study was to compare salvage endoscopic nasopharyngectomy (ENPG) with intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) in clinical outcomes and complications of locally advanced rNPC.
Methods: Patients with histologically confirmed rNPC in rTNM stages were retrospectively enrolled between January 2013 and December 2019 in this multicenter, case-matched study.
Chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy exhibits remarkable efficacy against refractory or relapsed multiple myeloma (RRMM); however, the immune deficiency following CAR-Ts infusion has not been well studied. In this study, 126 patients who achieved remission post-CAR-Ts infusion were evaluated for cellular immunity. Following lymphodepletion (LD) chemotherapy, the absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) and absolute counts of lymphocyte subsets were significantly lower than baseline at D0.

Complex deep neural networks demonstrate significant performance advantages when classifying the radar micro-Doppler signals that have unique correspondences with human behavior. However, in embedded applications, the demand for lightweight and low latency poses challenges to the radar-based HAR network construction.

An efficient targeted genes knockout protocol is crucial to explore molecular mechanisms of fungal virulence to the host. In this study, we established a gene knockout transformation system by employing Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation to knockout genes in M 1.

Atoh1 overexpression can promote HC regeneration in the postnatal cochlea, but the regenerated HCs do not possess the structural and functional characteristics of HCs in situ. The stereocilia on the apical surface of HCs are the first-level structure for sound conduction, and regeneration of functional stereocilia is the key basis for the reproduction of functional HCs.

Introduction: Multiple myeloma (MM) is a fatal hematological malignancy and does not have adequate prognostic indicators. Previous studies indicate that CEP72 is closely related to tumorigenesis and tumor progression. However, the expression and function of CEP72 in multiple myeloma have yet to be elucidated.

Patients And Methods: Biopsies were taken from the inferior turbinate (IT) of controls (n = 20) and patients with AR (n = 20). The ciliary length and the DNAI1 location patterns were assessed by using immunofluorescent staining.
Background: Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) has thus far been elusive, in part due to target restriction and phenotypic heterogeneity of AML cells. Mutations of the FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) and DNA methyltransferase 3A (DNMT3A) genes are common driver mutations that present with a poor prognosis in AML patients. We found that AML patients with FLT3 or DNMT3A mutations had higher expression of CD44 isoform 6 (CD44v6) compared to normal specimens.
