Polyimide (PI) aerogels possess significant potential for various applications due to their outstanding mechanics and thermal insulation. However, a major drawback of these aerogels is their susceptibility to moisture, which not only compromises their insulative performance but also leads to an increase in weight. To address this issue, we have developed a moisture-resistance technique by incorporating a long-chain hydrophobic barrier at the ortho position relative to the imide groups to enhance the moisture-resistance of the PI aerogels.

Coumarin was detected as one of the most abundant compounds by nontargeted analysis of natural product components in actual water samples prior to disinfection. More importantly, prechlorination of humic acid generated 3-hydroxycoumarin and monohydroxy-monomethyl-substituted coumarin with a total yield of ≤10.1%, which suggested the humic substance in raw water is an important source of coumarins.

EGFR mutation causes resistance to the first-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the therapeutic options for sensitizing first TKIs and delaying the emergence of EGFR mutant are limited. In this study, we show that quercetin directly binds with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) and inhibits its enzymatic activity through competitively abrogating NADP binding in the catalytic domain.

Current methods for the rapid detection of trace antibiotics in the environment remains problems of low accuracy and false negative or false positive, making the development of fast, and accurate, and reliable methods for antibiotic testing a major challenge that needs to be addressed. Herein, we developed a novel label-free colorimetric and fluorescent dual-mode aptasensor assembled by the strong interaction of layered MoSe nanosheets (MoSe NSs) with ampicillin (AMP) aptamer functionalized silver nanoclusters (Apt-AgNCs) that specifically bind AMP to allow the sensitive and selective detection of AMP. Apt-AgNCs could be adsorbed on the surface of MoSe NSs via van der Waals force to form a nanocomposite, Apt-AgNCs/MoSe NSs.

Early detection of metallic corrosion is one considerable method to reduce imperceptible disasters nowadays. Fluorescent coatings with high sensitivity and long lifetimes for use in the early detection of metallic corrosion are in high demand, but they are presently difficult to prepare. Inspired by the chameleon's skin, which is capable of switching its color in different atmospheres sensitively and reversibly, we proposed herein a facile and universal all-in-one strategy of combining the fluorescent sensitivity and dynamic hydrogen bonds in a hydrogel to develop a reusable corrosion detection tape to cover metal surfaces.
