Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most aggressive subtype of breast cancer, characterized by the loss or low expression of estrogen receptor (ER), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and progesterone receptor (PR). An approach to generating periodic spiking pulses in a broadband opto-electronic oscillator (OEO) without external injection is proposed and demonstrated. Through biasing the electro-optic Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) in the OEO cavity at its nonlinear working point, spiking pulses are excited by the self-generated chaos under the combined action of the loop filter response time and the nonlinear excitation effect. An interaction force is introduced between pulses.

A temporal dissipative soliton (TDS) with controllable morphology is demonstrated in a time-delayed coupled optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) driven by two optical carriers with different wavelengths. The morphology of the TDS is controlled by the power difference between the two optical carriers and the delay difference induced by the group-velocity dispersion (GVD) in the OEO loop. When the delay difference is small, the OEO operates in a single-soliton state.

An approach to suppressing Brillouin scattering-induced noise in long-haul high-power radio-over-fiber (RoF) links is proposed via non-uniformly distributed four-tone phase modulation. Four single-tone signals with uneven frequency intervals are utilized to phase modulate the optical signal before transmission. The power transferring from the optical carrier to the non-uniformly distributed modulation sidebands largely suppresses the Brillouin scattering-induced relative intensity noise (RIN).

17α-Hydroxyprogesterone (17α-OHP) is a steroid hormone with significant biological activity that can be obtained by catalyzing progesterone (PROG), the main product of sitosterol, through CYP17A1. However, increasing the catalytic specificity of HCYP17A1 for C17 hydroxylation of progesterone (PROG) poses a formidable challenge due to the close proximity of the C16 and C17 positions. Tomato is a popular vegetable worldwide; its production is highly threatened by infection with the potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd). We obtained the full-length genome sequence of previously conserved PSTVd and inoculated it on four genotypes of semi-cultivated tomatoes selected from a local tomato germplasm resource. SC-5, which is a PSTVd-resistant genotype, and SC-96, which is a PSTVd-sensitive genotype, were identified by detecting the fruit yield, plant growth, biomass accumulation, physiological indices, and PSTVd genome titer after PSTVd inoculation.
