Several studies suggested that total hip arthroplasty (THA) was more technical demanding following previous pelvic osteotomy (PO), resulting in poor outcomes compared with primary THA. However, the other studies regarding this topic had reported contradictory results. Therefore, we conducted this meta-analysis to compare the clinical results and other parameters between total hip arthroplasty following pelvic osteotomy and primary total hip arthroplasty.

To address these issues, researchers have explored drug repurposing.

Historically, limited studies indicated that Charcot arthropathy of the hip joint may be a contraindication for total hip arthroplasty (THA). Yet, some recent studies have shown that good clinical results and acceptable survival rate.

However, the immune-boosting effects of these drugs are a subject of controversy, and their impact on the tumor microenvironment are poorly understood. In this study, we discovered that lipid peroxidation (LPO) promotes the formation of lipid rafts in the membrane, which mediated by Acyl-CoA Synthetase Long Chain Family Member 4 (ACSL4) impairs the sensitivity of melanoma cells to platinum-based drugs.

Background: Inflammation is a potential mechanism underlying the development of white matter lesions (WMLs) and cerebral atrophy. We aimed to investigate the relationship of fibrinogen levels with WMLs and cerebral atrophy in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS).
Methods: A total of 701 AIS patients were enrolled.
Nanocellulose hydrogels are promising to replace synthetic ones for direct ink writing (DIW)-based 3D printing biobased applications. However, less gelation strength and low solid content of the hydrogels limit the printability and subsequent fidelity of the dried object. Herein, a biobased, ternary DIW hydrogel ink is developed by one-pot gelation of cellulose nanofibrils (CNF), sodium alginate (SA), and Ca-montmorillonite (Ca-MMT) via in situ ionic crosslinking.

However, the pathological evolution dynamics and underlying regulatory mechanisms remain largely unknown. Herein, we introduce a single-particle rotational microrheology method for pathological staging of macrophage foaming and antiatherosclerotic explorations by probing the dynamic changes of lysosomal viscous feature over the pathological evolution progression.

However, because of the high variability and complexity of pathogens, rapid determination of neutralization activity of antiviral antibodies remains a challenge. Here, we report a new method, named as out-of-plane polarization imaging based single-particle rotational sensing, for rapid analysis of neutralization activity of antiviral antibody against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).

However, previous studies of social decision making have paid less attention to the interactants' emotions, leaving age differences and underlying neural mechanisms unexplored. To address this gap, the present study combined functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging, employing a modified dictator game task with recipients displaying either neutral or sad facial expressions.

Digital adherence technologies can improve adherence; however, there is a lack of evidence on cost-effectiveness. This study aimed to explore the cost-effectiveness of medication event reminder monitors (MERM) in China compared with the standard of care, using results from a pragmatic, cluster-randomised superiority trial of an electronic MERM in China.

However, the mechanisms linking MC heterogeneity to immune evasion and treatment response remain unclear.
Methods: Based on 94 previously published highly correlated genes for MC, HCC patients' data from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and changes in immune signatures and prognostic stratification were studied.
Carbon fiber resin-based composite materials are widely employed in the manufacturing of composite shells. During the curing process, the temperature gradients and cure degree gradients make it easy to generate thermal strains in both carbon fibers and resin, with the resin experiencing cure shrinkage strain due to the curing reaction, ultimately leading to residual stresses and strains. In this paper, a three-dimensional thermo-chemo-mechanical coupled curing model of the composite shell was established based on a resin test, and the changes of temperature, curing degree, residual stress, and strain during the solidification of the composite shell were investigated.

Here we discuss a special subset of this material, in its fibrillated form, which is produced by aerobic microorganisms, namely, bacterial nanocellulose (BNC). BNC offers distinct advantages over plant-derived counterparts, including high purity and high degree of polymerization as well as crystallinity, strength, and water-holding capacity, among others.

We previously indicated breast muscle grew rapidly from 18th day after hatching (E18) to E27, and almost stopped from E27 to E34 of Jiaji ducks, while the mechanism is unclear. This study utilized RNA-seq to explore the related genes of muscle development and their relationship with small molecule metabolites at E18, E27 and E34 of Jiaji ducks.

However, this goal remains challenging because of the interference of precursor miRNAs (pre-miRNAs) and the low abundance of mature miRNAs. Herein, we proposed a plasmonic imaging-based strategy for assessing the efficacy of potential broad-spectrum antiviral drugs targeting the N-terminal domain of a nucleocapsid protein (NTD) and nucleic acid (NA) interactions. With NTD and NA conjugated gold nanoparticles as core and satellite nanoprobes, respectively, we found that the multivalent binding interactions could drive the formation of core-satellite nanostructures with enhanced scattering brightness due to the plasmonic coupling effect.
