Background: The evaluation of the treatment response after concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy (CCRT) for locally advanced cervical cancer is closely related to the formulation of treatment strategies. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a recommended method for efficacy evaluation; however, a unified consensus has not yet been reached on its use, and it has its limitations. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of a combination of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) parameters and the squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) to establish another efficient and feasible examination method.

Objective: Gastric cancer (GC), one of the highest venous thromboembolism (VTE) incidence rates in cancer, contributes to considerable morbidity, mortality, and, prominently, extra cost. However, up to now, there is not a high-quality VTE model to steadily predict the risk for VTE in China. Consequently, setting up a prediction model to predict the VTE risk is imperative.

The diagnostic accuracy of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) of Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System version 2 (PI-RADSv2) is limited by subjectivity in result interpretation and the false positive results from certain similar anatomic structures. We aimed to establish a new model combining quantitative contrast-enhanced ultrasound, PI-RADSv2, clinical parameters to optimize the PI-RADSv2-based model. The analysis was conducted based on a data set of 151 patients from 2019 to 2022, multiple regression analysis showed that prostate specific antigen density, age, PI-RADSv2, quantitative parameters (rush time, wash-out area under the curve) were independent predictors.

Uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC) is infiltrated by immune cells, which are involved in the growth and proliferation of malignant tumors and resistance to immunotherapy. This study suggested that RNA modification regulators played an important role in the development and prognosis of UCEC. Many studies confirmed that RNA modification played an essential role in tumor immune regulation, and abnormal RNA modification contributed to tumorigenesis and cancer progression.

Background: Desmoid-type fibromatosis (DF) is a locally aggressive tumor characterized by peripheral infiltration of neoplastic cells and remote metastasis disability. This systematic review examined the efficacy and safety of thermal ablative therapy for DF tumors.

Methods: A literature search was conducted using PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase from January 1, 2000, to November 12, 2022.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a double-Schanz screw external fixator combined with anti-rotating Kirschner wire in the treatment of displaced Salter-Harris type II proximal humerus fractures in skeletally immature patients.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 22 cases of displaced Salter-Harris type II proximal humerus fractures in skeletally immature patients who were treated with a double-Schanz screw external fixator combined with anti-rotating Kirschner wire. Patients included were the Neer-Horowitz (N-H) type 2, 3, and 4 of fracture.

TAGLN2, an actin-binding protein, functions as a binding protein to actin to facilitate the formation of intracellular cytoskeleton structures. TAGLN2 overexpression in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is reported in our previous study. This study aimed to examine the functions and molecular mechanisms of TAGLN2 in PTC.

Article Synopsis
  • * In an experiment involving rats with surgically induced OA, PTE was administered for five weeks, and various techniques were used to analyze its therapeutic impact on joint health and cellular aging markers.
  • * Results indicated that PTE treatment improved joint health by reducing OA scores, lowering inflammatory markers, and enhancing the expression of protective cartilage proteins, suggesting potential benefits for managing OA and combating cellular aging.
