[The diagnosis and surgical treatment for bleeding polyp in paranasal sinus and nasal cavity (with 23 cases reported)].

Objective: To study the diagnosis and the therapy for bleeding polyp in paranasal sinus and nasal cavity(BPPSNC), and to improve its diagnosis and treatment level.

Method: A retrospective analysis was performed on 23 cases with BPPSNC by the diagnosis and the therapy.

Result: Before operation, three cases were considered as malignant tumor, and five cases could not be diagnosed definitely.

[Extraluminal foreign body originated from pharynx and esophagus (24 cases report)].

Objective: To summarize the symptoms, various diagnostic procedures, and therapy of extraluminal foreign body originated from pharynx and esophagus (EFBOPE).

Method: Twenty-four patients with EFBOPE were retrospectively reviewed.

Result: Twenty-two cases were removed surgically, 1 case was spontaneous expulsion, 1 case died.

[Security assortment and guarding method after tracheotomy].

Objective: To discuss the assortment method of security and to find out measures in order to avoid the asphyxia death owing to obstruction and collapse of canal after tracheotomy.

Method: During the period from June 1998 to September 2003, 346 patients were operated the tracheotomy for different reasons. Then they were assorted according to the causes if there was an obstruction in superior airway, the patients' mental health, age and the capacity of saving themselves.

[Surgical treatment for the chronic severe aspiration].

Objective: To find out the best surgical treatment for chronic severe aspiration with different pathogenesis.

Method: Eight patients with severe aspiration were treated by 3 surgical methods. Six of 8 cases were perfomed tracheotomy.
