Objective: This study intends to carry out a systematic review and meta-analysis of electroacupuncture combined with TDP in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis.

Methods: CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, PubMed, Embase and Cochrane databases were searched for literatures on randomized or quasi-randomized controlled trials of electroacupuncture combined with TDP in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis, and the references of the included studies were searched. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata15.

Succinate-ubiquinone oxidoreductase (SQR) is an attractive target for fungicide discovery. Herein, we report the discovery of novel SQR inhibitors using a pharmacophore-linked fragment virtual screening approach, a new drug design method developed in our laboratory. Among newly designed compounds, compound 9s was identified as the most potent inhibitor with a Ki value of 34 nM against porcine SQR, displaying approximately 10-fold higher potency than that of the commercial control penthiopyrad.

This report reviews our experience in venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support treatment in adult patients with cardiac failure, as well as analysis of the risk factors of early mortality. From February 2005 to June 2008, 45 patients undergoing cardiogenic shock required temporary ECMO support. They were divided into three groups: post-cardiotomy (n=31) and post-transplantation (n=5) heart failure, decompensated heart failure (n=9).

Background: Off-pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery (OPCAB) is associated with lower early mortality and benefits women disproportionately. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of off-pump techniques on sex differences in late outcomes.

Methods: We reviewed a clinical database of consecutive patients who underwent isolated coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) at FuWai Hospital from 1999 to 2005.

Objective: To compare the short-term outcomes in selected high-risk patients underwent off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB) or on-pump conventional coronary artery bypass grafting (CCABG).

Methods: Comparative analysis was made between 318 high-risk patients underwent OPCAB between January 1999 to December 2005 and 197 high-risk patients underwent CCABG between January 1999 to December 2003 and EuroSCORE was > or = 5 in all patients.

Results: EuroSCORE was similar between the two groups (6.

Objective: To assess the prognostic accuracy for operative mortality of 4 different risk stratification models in Chinese patients underwent (coronary artery bypass graft) CABG.

Methods: Between 2002 and 2003, all patients undergoing CABG in our institution were prospectively scored for operative mortality using Parsonnet, EuroSCORE, Cleveland and OPR scoring systems and operative mortality was registered. Operative mortality is defined as postoperative death of any cause during hospitalization.
