The study analyzed the relationship between Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) constitution types and metabolic indexes among 1,029 general patients from Changchun University Hospital between January 2021 and April 2023.
It found that the balanced constitution (BC) was most common, while blood stasis constitution (BSC) was rare; various constitutional types showed significant differences in body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure levels.
The study concluded that those with phlegm-dampness (PDC), yang-deficiency (YADC), and blood stasis (BSC) constitutions had more metabolic abnormalities compared to those with a balanced constitution (BC).
