Hand-Mazz is a second-class key protected wild plant in China. Here, the complete mitochondrial genome of Hand-Mazz was sequenced using Nanopore Sequel and Illumina NovaSeq platform. The mitochondrial genome was assembled into three circular-mapping molecules with the genome sizes of 154,640 bp, 192,388 bp and 146,907 bp, including 36 protein-coding genes, 19 tRNA genes, and 3 rRNA genes.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on Lozinsk. as a valuable genetic resource for crossbreeding research.
  • Researchers sequenced and analyzed the complete mitochondrial genome, which is 275,143 bp long, containing 29 protein-coding genes, 20 tRNA genes, and 3 rRNA genes, with a GC content of 45.23%.
  • Phylogenetic analysis shows that Lozinsk. is closely related to the Amygdaloideae species, contributing to a better understanding of evolutionary biology.

Catalyst supported on pyrite was prepared by the impregnation method to enhance the activity of catalyst and characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Some Fe2O3 and CoFe2O4 species were formed on the surface of pyrite. Synthetized catalyst was used to catalyze H2O2 oxidative discoloration of azo dye.

Article Synopsis
  • The study developed microsatellite loci for Prunus sibirica to explore genetic diversity, population structure, and aid in breeding late-blooming cultivars.
  • Researchers created 19 primer pairs using a magnetic bead enrichment technique, analyzing 40 individuals from three wild populations of P. sibirica and six from P. armeniaca, discovering varying levels of alleles and heterozygosity.
  • The newly developed microsatellite primer pairs can enhance population genetics research and support germplasm identification and selection in breeding P. sibirica and similar species.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the treatment of traumatic hemothorax by closed pleural drainage using a central venous catheter (CVC), compared with using a conventional chest tube.

Methods: A prospective controlled study with the Ethics Committee approval was undertaken. A total of 407 patients with traumatic hemothorax were involved and they were randomly assigned to undergo closed pleural drainage with CVCs (n=214) or conventional chest tubes (n=193).
