The Kalman filter is an important technique for system state estimation. It requires the exact knowledge of system noise statistics to achieve optimal state estimation. However, in practice, this knowledge is often unknown or inaccurate due to uncertainties and disturbances involved in the dynamic environment, leading to degraded or even divergent filtering solutions.

Room-temperature polariton lasing is achieved in GaN microrods grown by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy. We demonstrate a large Rabi splitting (Ω = 2g) up to 162 meV, exceeding the results from both the state-of-the-art nitride-based planar microcavities and previously reported GaN microrods. An ultra-low threshold of 1.

We examined the pollen allergy risk of street trees in urban alleys, with 410 urban alleys in Qingyang District, Chengdu as an example. On the basis of recording the characteristics of street trees, we calculated the index of allergenicity of urban green zones () values and overlay the regional population density map, and finally obtained the pollen allergy risk map of urban alleys in Qingyang District. The results showed that there were 32461 street trees in 410 urban alleys, belonging to 27 families, 41 genera, and 52 species.

However, there have been few theoretical models on the behavior of the leakage current with an increasing total current. We develop an Ohmic-law-like method to describe the transport behaviors of the systems with electron and hole currents simultaneously.

The dispersion curves are measured by the angle-resolved micro-photoluminescence spectrometer, and two types of exciton polaritons are identified with the help of the finite-difference time-domain simulation. By changing the pump position, the photon part of the exciton polaritons is found to switch between the quasi-whispering gallery modes and the two-round quasi-whispering gallery modes.

Young's modulus of GaN nanocolumns were measured under both compressive stress and tensile stress. It was found that the Young's modulus decreases with the increasing of nanocolumn diameter due to the increase of face defect density.

The internal garden of care homes is often the only green space supplied for the elderly. To elucidate the microclimate status of these internal gardens, three microclimate parameters (air temperature (Ta), relative humidity (RH), and solar radiation (SR) were measured in the gardens of eight care homes for the aged in Chengdu City (for 2015 and 2016).

We demonstrated, to the best of our knowledge, the first tunable single-mode microrod laser without complicated micro/nano-manipulation and without additional environmental requirement. In this letter, we realized the wavelength modulation in a single semiconductor microrod simply and directly by changing the axial location of the active region, owing that the active region position plays a key role in determining the lasing mode of microrod lasers.

In this work, a simple and direct way to realize stable, single-mode MNW laser without complicated micro/nano-manipulation was demonstrated. We have found and proved that the position of the active region plays a key role in determining the lasing mode of MNW lasers, which can be used to realize single-mode lasing in MNWs.

In this paper, a structure that decouples the gain medium and optical cavity is proposed, where the corresponding mechanism for the lasing wavelength shift is explained. Based on the above structure, one kind of wavelength continuously variable lasers is achieved on a single GaN/InGaN core-shell microrod without modifying the geometry of the resonant cavity or cutting the microrod.

A novel nanoheteroepitaxy method, namely, the grouped and multistep nanoheteroepitaxy (GM-NHE), is proposed to attain a high-quality gallium nitride (GaN) epilayer by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy. This method combines the effects of sub-100 nm nucleation and multistep lateral growth by using a low-cost but unique carbon nanotube mask, which consists of nanoscale growth windows with a quasi-periodic 2D fill factor. It is found that GM-NHE can facilely reduce threading dislocation density (TDD) and modulate residual stress on foreign substrate without any regrowth.

Although the chiral N-monosubstituted and N,N-disubstituted 1,2-amino phosphinamide ligands gave the main alcohol products with opposite configurations, a validated quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) mathematical model could be constructed between the physical Sterimol steric parameters of the N-substituents of the chiral ligands and the enantiomeric ratios of the alcohol products produced in the asymmetric Henry reaction. Since two sets of N-substituents are involved in the QSAR model construction, the key factor to succesfully construct a highly correlative and predictive model is to appropriately assign the N-substitutents.

We identify that the stimulated emission of GaN laser diodes (LDs) emerges far below the traditionally recognized threshold from both optical and electrical experiments. Below the threshold, the linear-polarized stimulated emission has been the dominating part of overall emission and closely related to resonant cavity. Its intensity increases super linearly with current while that of spontaneous emission increases almost linearly.
