To address the problems of ecological pollution and food safety caused by the excessive use of chemical fertilizers in modern agriculture, it has become a hot topic of current research to develop novel low-cost, biodegradable, and efficient gel slow-release fertilizers. Herein, using xanthan gum and ZrMOF as raw materials, urea as a nutrient, acrylic acid and itaconic acid as co-monomers, a novel ZrMOF gel slow-release fertilizer (ZrMOF@CpM) was prepared by free radical copolymerization. After being characterized, its swelling and water retention properties and slow-release behavior were investigated.

The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, a surrogate marker of insulin resistance, has been associated with various metabolic disorders. This study aimed to investigate the association between TyG index and new-onset diabesity in a national longitudinal study.

However, comprehensive profiling and accurate structural characterization of GLs in GLSO remain underexplored. In this study, 59 GLs from GLSO were identified by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF MS) and molecular networking (MN).

Aim: To mine and analyze adverse drug events (ADEs) signals of azithromycin use in children in the real world to inform the safety assessment of azithromycin use in children.
Methods: ADE reports from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) involving children (0-17 years) with azithromycin as the primary suspected drug from 2004 to early 2024 were extracted. ADEs were categorized using MedDRA, and signal detection was conducted using Reporting Odds Ratio (ROR) and Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR).

Introduction: First-episode schizophrenia is a prevalent psychiatric disorder with a complex etiology. This meta-analysis evaluates the efficacy of risperidone in treating patients with first-episode schizophrenia.
Methods: A literature search was conducted to identify studies on the efficacy of risperidone for first-episode schizophrenia.
Background: Low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (LG-ESS) is a rare uterine malignancy characterized by its complex tumor microenvironment (TME) and high recurrence rates, posing challenges to accurate prognosis and effective treatment. Identifying prognostic biomarkers is essential for improving patient stratification and guiding therapeutic strategies.
Methods: Using single-cell transcriptome analysis combined with H&E and multiplex immunofluorescence staining, we identified a subpopulation of tumor cells in LG-ESS and further validated the association of this subpopulation and its characteristic genes with LG-ESS prognosis by molecular characterization and bulk transcriptome data.
Ovarian cancer (OC) remains one of the most lethal gynecological malignancies globally. Despite the implementation of various medical imaging approaches for OC screening, achieving accurate differential diagnosis of ovarian tumors continues to pose significant challenges due to variability in image performance, resulting in a lack of objectivity that relies heavily on the expertise of medical professionals. This challenge can be addressed through the emergence and advancement of radiomics, which enables high-throughput extraction of valuable information from conventional medical images.

Epidemiological studies and animal models have suggested a possible link between gut microbiota (GM), circulating metabolites, and endometriosis (EMs) pathogenesis. However, whether these associations are causal or merely due to confounding factors remains unclear. We conducted a two-sample and two-step Mendelian randomization (MR) study to elucidate the potential causal relationship between GM and EMs, and the mediating role of circulating metabolites.

Background: Observational studies and animal experiments had suggested a potential relationship between gut microbiota abundance and pathogenesis of endometriosis (EMs), but the relevance of this relationship remains to be clarified.
Methods: We perform a two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to explore whether there is a causal correlation between the abundance of the gut microbiota and EMs and the direction of causality. Genome-wide association study (GWAS) data ukb-d-N80, finn-b-N14-EM, and MiBinGen were selected.
Ammonia (NH) is one of the most widely produced chemicals globally, primarily synthesized through the Haber-Bosch process, which requires high temperatures and pressures. Dual-site catalysts can activate N and H at spatially separated sites, enabling efficient NH synthesis under milder conditions. Despite the rapid experimental progress of the dual-site catalysts (e.

The employment of carbon-neutral biofuel, pentanol, in engines contributes to reducing soot emissions; however, its effectiveness is contingent upon the position of the OH functional group. This work investigated the soot morphology and microstructural parameters evolution of three pentanol isomers, and explored the influence mechanism of OH functional group positional isomerism on the entire process of PAHs formation at the atomic level.

Methods: We enrolled 47,037 participants from the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS), China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), and National Health, and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). The adjusted logistic regression model was used to examine the relationship between waist circumference and prevalent hypertension.
Metal oxides have garnered significant attention in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), where a distorted MO octahedral unit has a marked impact on their performance. This study introduces the distortion coefficient to quantify the MO distortion composed of its volume and shape, and reports the effect of MO distortion on the activity and stability in rutile metal oxides for the OER. This provides a fundamental understanding for designing effective MO active units for the OER.
