Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive cognitive decline and currently there are no available treatments. Alongside the conventional Aβ and tau hypotheses, neuroinflammation and metabolism disruption have also been regarded as crucial hallmarks of AD. In this study, a novel Chinese formula Nao Tan Qing (NTQ) was developed and shown to improve AD.

This study included 30 healthy subjects and 20 depressive patients with high-sampled fMRI data (> 69 min). We computed suboptimal targets by gradually increasing the scanning duration beginning at 6 min.

However, developing cost-effective products remains a challenge for flexible GaN-based µLEDs. Here, a facile and stable method is proposed to fabricate flexible GaN-based µLEDs from silicon substrates in an array-scale manner by wet etching.

Complying with precautionary measures is affected by knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) toward COVID-19 among the general public, so it is urgent to know the public's awareness of COVID-19 as to promote the epidemic management of COVID-19 in China.
Methods: An online sample of Chinese residents was recruited.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a typical autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS) characterized by inflammatory infiltration, demyelination, and axonal damage. Currently, there are no measures to cure MS completely, but multiple disease-modifying therapies (DMT) are available to control and mitigate disease progression. There are significant similarities between the CNS pathological features of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and MS patients.

The aim of this study was to investigate the role and mechanism of Notch2-dependent GATA3+ Treg cells in allergic rhinitis (AR). Samples were collected from patients in the control and AR groups to detect differences in the numbers of GATA3+ Treg cells and their intracellular Notch2 levels. The effects of Notch2 on GATA3+ Treg cell differentiation and function in vitro were detected.

Its osmoregulatory physiology remains elusive due to a lack of precise identification of the response proteins. In the present study, DIA/SWATH was used to identify differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) under alkaline (pH = 10.

With the improvement of people's living standards in China in recent years, the incidence of diabetes has become the main cause of end-stage renal disease. However, how and whether circ ASAP2 could mediate DN remain poorly understood.

Despite this, little is known about the molecular properties and roles of TFs in pitaya betalain biosynthesis. Here we report the identification of 70 in their gene structure, locations on each chromosome, systematic phylogenetic analysis, conserved motif analysis, and synteny of genes.

We aimed to develop a convenient approach to locate these targets on the scalp.
Materials And Methods: In a discovery experiment, the two personalized targets were precisely identified on 24 subjects using a neuronavigation system.
Background: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are implicated in carcinogenesis, including papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). Despite of previous reports regarding the high expression of circPTPRM in PTC, the role and regulatory mechanism remain to be investigated.
Methods: CircPTPRM and miR-885-5p expression were examined, and the effects on cell proliferation, migration, and invasion were also measured.

Astaxanthin is a high value carotenoid with a broad range of commercial applications due to its superior antioxidant properties. In this study, β-carotene-producing XK17 constructed in the lab was employed for astaxanthin biosynthesis. The catalytic effects of β-carotene ketolase CrtW and β-carotene hydroxylase CrtZ from various species were investigated.

Methods: 1. Thirty-one healthy controls, 29 Allergic rhinitis (AR) patients and 16 AR patients treated with AIT were recruited.
Background: Owing to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and the emergency use of different types of COVID-19 vaccines, there is an urgent need to consider the effectiveness and persistence of different COVID-19 vaccines.
Methods: We investigated the immunogenicity of CoronaVac and Covilo, two inactivated vaccines against COVID-19 that each contain inactivated severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The levels of neutralizing antibodies to live SARS-CoV-2 and the inhibition rates of neutralizing antibodies to pseudovirus, as well as the immunoglobulin (Ig)G and IgM responses towards the spike (S) and nucleocapsid (N) protein of SARS-CoV-2 at 180 days after two-dose vaccination were detected.
Ansamitocin P-3 (AP-3) produced by Actinosynnema pretiosum is a potent antitumor agent. However, lack of efficient genome editing tools greatly hinders the AP-3 overproduction in A. pretiosum.

Gastric cancer (GC) is the 3rd leading cause of death from cancer and the 5th most common cancer worldwide. The detection rate of GC among Tibetans is significantly higher than that in Han Chinese, probably due to differences in their living habits, dietary structure, and environment. Despite such a high disease burden, the epidemiology of gastric cancer has not been studied in this population.

Caveolin-1 (CAV-1) is involved in neuropathic pain, and adenosine monophosphate (AMP)-exchange protein directly activated by cAMP1 (EPAC-1) is a potential therapeutic target for chronic pain. However, whether EPAC-1 promotes chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP) through CAV-1 has not been reported.

Objective: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) can be attributed to the dysregulation of hepatic lipid metabolism; however, its cellular and molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to explore the effect of long non-coding RNA growth arrest specific 5 (GAS5) on hepatic lipid metabolism in fatty liver models.
Methods: Obese mice, high fat diet-fed mice and free fatty acid-stimulated cells were used for GAS5 expression detection.
Background: Although the relationship of either hemoglobin or red blood cell distribution width (RDW) with contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) has been reported individually. To date, no studies have evaluated the predictive value of hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio (HRR) for CIN.
Methods: A total of 1658 elderly patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing emergency percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were retrospectively screened.
Suanyu is one of the traditional Chinese fermented fish products with a pleasant flavor. The present study sought to evaluate the effects of starter cultures and spices on the physicochemical properties and microbial flora of Suanyu after fermentation and storage. The results indicated that fermentation with mixed starter cultures could lower the pH and inhibit TVB-N formation in Suanyu after fermentation and during storage.

Complexes 1 and 2 are isostructural seven-coordinate with distorted geometries between a capped trigonal prism and a capped octahedron, while 3 is six-coordinate with an octahedral geometry. Dynamic magnetic property measurements reveal their field induced slow magnetic relaxation behaviours.
