This study investigated the benefits of a rice starch-konjac glucomannan (ERS-KGM) complex, produced screw extrusion, for gut health and obesity prevention. Analyzed through starch digestion, scanning electron microscopy, and structural analysis, the ERS-KGM complex exhibited a notable increase in resistant starch content due to its well-ordered structure.

Cu doping has been shown to enhance the mechanical properties and high-temperature stability of the Au-Ni brazed joint's central area.

This study leverages machine learning to identify disulfidptosis-related long noncoding RNAs (DRlncRNAs) as potential prognostic biomarkers in KIRC, offering new insights into tumor pathogenesis and treatment avenues.

In the present study, activated HSCs were observed in the peritumor non-cancerous liver tissues (PNLT) colorectal adenocarcinoma liver metastasis (CRALM), and the density of activated HSCs was higher in PNLT compared with that in normal liver tissues (NLT).

Community-based rehabilitation service in Chengdu, Southwest China: a cross-sectional general survey.

Background: World Health Organization initiated community-based rehabilitation (CBR) in 1978, and by now, it has been an essential process of medical services worldwide. China had strengthened primary health care on building more than 35,000 community health centers (CHCs) in cities, and more than 34,000 township health centers (THCs) in the rural area. Nevertheless, it remains unclear that if these primary health centers could provide optional rehabilitation services for disabilities.

Regularized least squares locality preserving projections with applications to image recognition.

Locality preserving projection (LPP), as a well-known technique for dimensionality reduction, is designed to preserve the local structure of the original samples which usually lie on a low-dimensional manifold in the real world. However, it suffers from the undersampled or small-sample-size problem, when the dimension of the features is larger than the number of samples which causes the corresponding generalized eigenvalue problem to be ill-posed. To address this problem, we show that LPP is equivalent to a multivariate linear regression under a mild condition, and establish the connection between LPP and a least squares problem with multiple columns on the right-hand side.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Patients With Fibrotic Interstitial Lung Disease and COPD.

Study Objectives: Despite the clinical and prognostic significance of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs), there have been few studies about the possible predictors of OSA and the effect of OSA on quality of life in patients with CRDs. The objectives were to identify physiological and clinical parameters that predict the occurrence and severity of OSA and to investigate the effect of OSA on quality of life in patients with CRDs.

Methods: Seventy-three patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and 77 patients with fibrotic interstitial lung disease (ILD) underwent overnight polysomnography (PSG) and pulmonary function testing and completed clinical questionnaires.
