Purpose: To assess bone mineral density (BMD) in middle-aged individuals in Shanghai, in order to improve awareness of osteopenia and osteoporosis screening.
Methods: The clinical data of 1107 permanent residents of Shanghai aged 40-60 years were collected using a random cluster sampling method. Osteoporosis questionnaire survey and BMD test were conducted.
Background: Alpha-fetoprotein-producing gastric cancer (AFPGC) represents a particularly aggressive subtype of gastric carcinoma characterized by elevated rates of vascular invasion, lymphatic dissemination, hepatic metastasis, and an unfavorable clinical outcome. Treatment strategies for AFPGC have historically lacked specificity. Herein, a case is presented involving AFPGC in which the patient exhibited a notable response to combined anti-PD-1 antibody immunotherapy and SOX chemotherapy, potentially achieving a cure.

Nevertheless, developing flexible sensors resilient to extremely low temperatures remains a significant challenge. In this study, we present an organohydrogel capable of functioning ranging from ambient to -78 °C, enabling real-time monitoring of multi-source signals, including motion, physiology, speech, and pressure.

A dramatic increase in antioxidant capacity, 158 times more than natural trolox, is noted when single-atom copper is incorporated into gold-based clusterzymes to form AuCu. Considering the inflammatory and mildly acidic microenvironment characteristic of osteoarthritis (OA), pH-dependent dendritic mesoporous silica nanoparticles (DMSNs) coupled with PEG have been employed as a delivery system for the spatial-temporal release of clusterzymes within active articular regions, thereby enhancing the duration of effectiveness.

Recently, tremendous efforts have been devoted to developing MEG active materials from wood lignocellulose (WLC) due to its excellent properties including environmental friendliness, sustainability, and biodegradability. This review comprehensively summarizes the recent advances in MEG based on WLC (wood, cellulose, lignin, and woody biochar), covering its principles, preparation, performances, and applications.

Due to the heterogeneous structure and biological characteristics of cartilage and subchondral bone, the integration of osteochondral repair is still a challenge.
Results: In the present study, a novel bilayer hydrogel scaffold was designed based on anatomical characteristics to imitate superficial cartilage and subchondral bone.
This study aimed to develop and validate a bone marrow edema model using a magnetic resonance imaging-based radiomics nomogram for the diagnosis of osteoarthritis. Clinical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data of 302 patients with and without osteoarthritis were retrospectively collected from April 2022 to October 2023 at Longhua Hospital affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The participants were randomly divided into two groups (a training group, n = 211 and a testing group, n = 91).

However, most current cellulose-based separators come from high-cost nanocellulose and bacterial cellulose. Herein, regenerated cellulose (RC) separators were prepared from dissolving pulp with different degrees of polymerization (DPs) by using the NaOH/urea/thiourea dissolution system as well as a nonsolvent-induced phase separation method.

Methods: This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and meta-analysis criteria for systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Randomized controlled trials published till November 2023 were searched in PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature, and Wanfang databases.
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative bone disease associated with aging. The rising global aging population has led to a surge in OA cases, thereby imposing a significant socioeconomic burden. Researchers have been keenly investigating the mechanisms underlying OA.

However, the utility of cellulose materials has been limited by the challenge of balancing heat resistance with flexibility. On the basis of the preliminary research conducted by the research team, further proposals have been put forward for a method involving disk milling to create a "micro-nanocollaboration" network for the fabrication of flexible, high-temperature-resistant, and ultrafine fiber-based cellulose insulating films.

Numerous studies have indicated the crucial involvement of autophagy in the development of IDD. However, the non-selective nature of autophagy substrates poses great limitations on the application of autophagy-related medications.

Co-pyrolysis biochar demonstrated superior efficiency in mitigating agricultural non-point source pollution compared to biochar derived from individual sources. Furthermore, it displayed notable capabilities in retaining and releasing nutrients, resulting in increased soil levels of total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and organic matter during the maturation stage of rice.

Methods: Adults aged 30-82 who lived in 12 grass-roots communities or rural towns in Shanghai, Jilin Province, and Jiangsu Province from December 2019 to January 2022 through a multi-stage sampling method were included in this study. The risk factors and risk prediction of osteoporosis in women and men were explored and established by univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression model.
Gynecological malignancies, particularly lymph node metastasis, have presented a diagnostic challenge, even with traditional imaging techniques such as CT, MRI, and PET/CT. This study was conceived to explore and, subsequently, to bridge this diagnostic gap through a more holistic and innovative approach. By developing a comprehensive framework that integrates both non-image data and detailed MRI image analyses, this study harnessed the capabilities of a multimodal federated-learning model.

However, the inefficient utilization and conversion of exogenous stimulation, single catalytic modality, and unsatisfactory therapeutic efficiency in the tumor microenvironment (TME) have seriously restricted their further application in tumor therapy. Herein, the heterogeneous carbon nitride-based nanoagent named T-HCN@CuMS was successfully developed, which dramatically improved the efficiency of the tumor therapeutic modality.

Recently, study of nanocellulose membrane modification has become a hot topic. However, the application of nanocellulose membrane has been limited due to their inadequate heat resistance and flexibility.

Osteoporosis (OP) is a prevalent metabolic disease, with aging and menopause being the major risk factors. Studies have shown that nearly one-third of postmenopausal women suffer from osteoporosis. However, there is a scarcity of research on antioxidant systems for the prevention and treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis (PM-OP).

Zn, a widely used feed additive, has a very high residue in swine manure, but the distribution characteristics of ARGs imposed by Zn in anaerobic digestion (AD) products are not clear. In this study, the behaviour of mobile genetic elements (MGEs), bacterial community, and their association with ARGs were determined in the presence of 125 and 1250 mg L Zn in AD system of swine manure.

However, higher dosage of Fe must be added, which will restrain the oxidation efficiency of Fe-PDS process. In this work, the oxalic acid (OA)/Fe-PDS process was studied to improve paper sludge dewatering.
